I'm assuming there was some sort of front end collision. Does it run? Do you have any pictures of the engine bay? Thanks. | | | 04-14-2010, 08:23 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | First it was in an accident. Then it was reconstructed and put back on the road and beat on by an 18 year old. Need I continue? (kidding) His dad owned a body shop that has a frame jig. Said they put it on the jig but the frame was already straight. They purchased all the front end parts off of us and put them on this car. Soon after this, he blew up the diff. So he sold it to us, and I put a diff in. That's basically all I know. I'll get a picture of the engine bay for you. Looks like the headlights are from a coupe. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-14-2010, 08:58 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | Oh, and yes it runs. I drove it home and back last night There's a vibration from the drive train at certain RPM's. The guibo has seen better days. Yes, it was in a front end accident. | | | 04-14-2010, 10:47 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Albany ny Posts: 64 | Hmmm no rudeness intended I promise but this poor ti is so sad lol I think the price is a bit steap considering its history.. specially with a salvage title.. I paid close to that for my ti.. needing NOTHING BUT! Otherwise, it's likely to be parted. Just thought I'd give it one more chance to live! | | | 04-15-2010, 12:20 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by bubela No worries, I am open to offers. If you should part it out. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-15-2010, 01:00 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | at least they repaired it with those beautiful Cordobarot panels | | | 04-15-2010, 05:00 PM | #10 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Louisiana Posts: 29 | That cars not worth that much. If anyone wants this car for $2000 (cash), it's yours. I'm not budging off that price. If I don't get $2000, I'll be back offering up its parts. I'll sit on it for a bit until its time is up. | | | 04-16-2010, 01:14 AM | #12 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: VA Posts: 74 | I'd love to have those seats if you do part it out, I need some sport seats! | | | 04-16-2010, 03:26 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: PA Posts: 283 | I just drove it down the road. I got it up to 5000 rpm in 4th and shifted into 5th to cruse around 60-65mph. Drove surprisingly well. It seems that the vibration appears at the lower (torque) rpm range in the lower gears. (2 and 3rd). Another thing I just learned about the car: You sometimes need to use the synchros from first gear in order to get in to reverse. | | | 04-16-2010, 05:12 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by ecpreston I'd love to have those seats if you do part it out, I need some sport seats! | Dips, post 8 Quote: Originally Posted by bubela I just drove it down the road.
