Do you have sport seats? They are leather with cloth inserts. There were roughly 30k sold in the US from 95-99. EDIT: After reading ur post again it sounds like it is a sport if you have the cloth/leather seats and cloth inserts in the door panels. Sport models didn't have cruise control. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-29-2006, 04:37 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | I've heard pictures are helpful in these cases. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 06-29-2006, 08:35 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Fl...tampa area Posts: 320 | http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2279969 pics are there, i was never good at posting pics so thats easier. im 99% sure its the sport model but really more interested in what the sport model gets extra. like i said i searched but couldnt find anything that was specific to 95, only 96 and up...plus production numbers | | | 06-29-2006, 08:49 PM | #5 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | The sport model has the m-tech body kit and a stiffer suspension, and the leather/cloth interior & sport seats. Sports came with 16's and active and bases came with 15's on them. It does not have cruise control or an obc, those are the only differences. As i stated above only 30k were sold from 95-99,i have never seen nor heard of how mnay of each model. I just looked at your pics and you do not have the m-tech body kit or the trim. Seems like it's an active or base with the sport interior inside. Was this car in a car accident before? Cause on 95's all the lower trim is gray like you rear bumper and your side skirts are painted and front bumper is painted. In my honest opinion this car was wrecked and they put on all the standard body parts and not the sport exterior parts. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-29-2006, 10:29 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Give a dealer the last 7 digits of your VIN and they will tell you what package/trim you had. You either have a rebuilt sport or a built up active since you have fogs, which most people would skip adding esp if it's a rebuild. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 06-29-2006, 10:50 PM | #7 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Hmmm... Sport seats and side panels NON-sport front and rear bumpers, and side moulding. It's probably easy to add Sport seats and side panels to an Active or Base. Based on the grey at the bottom of the rear bumper, my vote is that you've got a Base that's had seats/panels added, and the front bumper painted. Speaking of the painted bumper.... is it just my eyes, or are the lower front bumper and side panels whiter than the rest of the car? I'd suggest running a Carfax report to see if the car has been in any wrecks. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! One of the previous owners must've upgraded the interior. But if you look at this thread he states it's a sport, but it does not have the sport body kit. http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8858 __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 06-30-2006, 03:23 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Fl...tampa area Posts: 320 | yep thats why i always thought it was a sport... did actives come with the black interior? and i just read through that thread again... he said the 15's are the sport package wheels but he's wrong right... | | | 06-30-2006, 03:28 AM | #11 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Everything I've ever read here said that the Sport package includes 16" wheels. And I'm pretty sure that the grey stuff along the bottom of the bumpers and side skirts was only on the Base model. On the Active, those were painted body color. I'm leaning towards it being a Base that's had some of the Sport componants added. Regardless of which option package the car had/has, the most important thing is that you enjoy the car and take care of it. :-) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! Judging by the sport seats, my guess is it is a Sport. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-30-2006, 04:04 AM | #13 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Oooh... So, in '95 there was a Sport AND a Club Sport? I thought there was only the Club Sport, but now that you've pointed this out, I seem to recall mention of it back when I first started shopping for a 318ti last year. So, this car could be, in fact, a '95 Sport, and the confusion is due to the '95 Sport being significantly different than later Sports. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! I forgot what the differences are between a 95 Club Sport and 95 Sport other than M-Technic trim and the fact that a 95 Sport had 15" wheels. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 07-01-2006, 12:09 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Fl...tampa area Posts: 320 | so since its a 95, it could very well be a sport? yes i do enjoy the car a lot but i want to be sure of what it is. i know its not a club sport, and those were the only ones that got the m technic bodykit, but this now seems to be a true 1995 sport correct? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
