Or reset your average speed when you are crusising. Mine is off by 4 mph at 80mph, which is nice. If I set the cruise at 80, I'm actually going 76mph. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 01-23-2006, 02:45 AM | #49 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Northern New Jersey Posts: 395 | I bought the car used... I dont know what was done with it, but i've topped 125. I was racing my friend in a Passat, cars were dead even on a deserted highway at 3am. But then I shifted into 5th... of course his passat was auto. My speedo said we were doing 130, but his said 125. I'll take his over mine. 1995ti | | | 01-23-2006, 02:57 AM | #50 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: çî†ÿ øf åNgëL§, CA Posts: 5,314 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT Your speedo is probably off. I dont know if its the unit or fuse. And i dont know which fuse i should check. I checked clock last time and didnt do nothing. That unit went out with the cluster also, the gas and temperature. I replaced a fuse and the gas and temperatue gauge started working again but not the clock. So i dont know which fuse to check, and i dont have owner manual book. | | | 01-23-2006, 03:41 AM | #51 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Quote: Originally Posted by John Firestone I seriously doubt you will find a regulation that fixes the top speed at 116 mph, or whatever. Quote: If you guys just need to remove the speed limiter, I have a nice little controller that will do that. It also adds the one-touch lane change signals you get on recent European cars – briefly tap the turn stalk and you get 3 or 5 flashes – which is such a fun and useful mod I am surprised more people don't add it. | Sounds neat, tell us more. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-23-2006, 06:51 AM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Boston MA Posts: 221 | Back to the topic: 135mph in my Audi A4 on Pirelli tires 120mph in my 318ti on Sumitomo tires 450+mph on United Airline during take-off __________________ 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech Sport Silver (Gone to member leeko617) CURRENT: 2015 BMW X1, 2004 BMW 330ci Convertible, 1998 Porsche Boxster, 2001 BMW 525i Touring GONE: 2000 Audi A4, 2002 VW Passat, 1985 VW Cabriolet | | | 05-09-2006, 12:22 AM | #54 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Lafayette, Or. It is too bad the music will probably stop around 116-118 mph (actual not indicated) with the car eagerly charging toward the red zone. | | | 05-09-2006, 02:13 PM | #60 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: No Where Posts: 297 | Quote: Originally Posted by John Firestone It is too bad the music will probably stop around 116-118 mph (actual not indicated) with the car eagerly charging toward the red zone. | I was blaring music the whole way. Should it not do that? I remember because it was a long trip from San Diego (where I bought my car) to Phoenix down I-8. Maybe my ti is just special or something... | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
