Default Sat Nav - aerial cable routing

2000 E36 Compact auto.

Hi all - just installed a Radio/CD/Sat Nav unit in the dash. BUT what is the best route for the Sat Nav aerial wire ?

- preferably from on the dash, in through the passenger airbag cover and then where ?

OR from the outside ? - what is the best route ?

How did you do it ? - thanks

Wink no-one got Sat-Nav ?

Doesn't look like anyone has fitted a Sat-Nav themselves ?

Anyway, after removing the glove locker, I have now run the cable from the aerial, under the lip of the passenger airbag, into the area behind the glove locker and found it easy to poke through past the heater controls into the area behind the radio.

Looks neat and plenty of Sats found immediately.

Hi - not sure pics will help - thought the description would be sufficient ? The aerial just lies on the dash close to the passenger airbag cover.

If you know how to drop the glove locker then it all becomes very easy - I just wanted to find out how others had done it.

OK - here are some pics of the installation with a Blaupunkt Amsterdam. This has a B&W screen which isn't so pretty but it works well.

The clock is a modified one from a E36 saloon - the digital one was all but invisible in daylight. There is another thread on this modification.

Sorry the steering wheel is on the wrong side !
