But if it comes as pictured on the car I posted, it might be better than the BMP because it has all the fittings to hook up to the stock airbox. This might be a good alternative with a fogged airbox. The M42, M44 ITB from BMP Design is $1895.95 in their latest catalog and has a cone filter right next to the engine, so this dbilas system is the better deal if you want to keep your airbox. Just thought I would show this because some people, I for one, would rather go this route with cams, chip, and lightweight flywheel rather than forced induction. | | | 03-27-2005, 08:48 PM | #4 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | cool. always good to have options. be great to hear about your experiences if you do these mods __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 04-09-2005, 11:16 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Belgium Posts: 37 | here's a detailed list of the complete install possibilities Performance kits for BMW M42B18 Engines Step I : Upgrade to 114kW / 156HP includes: • A throttle body injector system 1453,-- • Complete software update 355,-- • Fitting of the throttle body injector system 261,-- at dbilas dynamic Completeprice including fitting at dbilas dynamic 1995,-- You save 74,-- Step II : Upgrade to 124kW / 169HP includes: • A throttle body injector system 1453,-- • A set of sport camshafts 587,-- • Complete software update 355,-- • Fitting of the throttle body injector system 261,-- • Fitting of the sport camshafts 294,-- at dbilas dynamic Completeprice including fitting at dbilas dynamic 2850,-- You save 100,-- Step III : Upgrade to 132kW / 180HP includes: • A throttle body injector system 1453,-- • A set of sport camshafts 587,-- • Cylinderhead and Valve modification 845,-- • Complete software update 355,-- • Fitting of the throttle body injector system 261,-- • Fitting of the cylinderhead 717,-- and the sport camshafts at dbilas dynamic Completeprice including fitting at dbilas dynamic 4090,-- You save 128,-- Step IV : Upgrade to 140kW / 190HP includes: • A throttle body injector system 1453,-- • A set of sport camshafts 587,-- • Cylinderhead and Valve modification 845,-- • Complete software update 355,-- • a/N 2000 control unit to replace the 889,-- air flow meter • Fitting of the throttle body injector system 261,-- • Fitting of the cylinderhead 717,-- and the sport camshafts at dbilas dynamic Completeprice including fitting at dbilas dynamic 4900,-- You save 207,-- All prices are in EURO and include 16 % VAT. I have decided to go with step IV, it will take some time to get all the money together because I still have some other mods in mind. But I expect everything to be installed next year, and I hope to get more then 200HP I know it's a lot of money and that the DASC is much cheaper, but forced induction (turbo/supercharger) on a NA engine is forbidden in Belgium and so is engine swap. | | | 04-09-2005, 01:09 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Delafield, WI Posts: 471 | Thanks much FuMa, it's great to have connections like you to let us know what is available for our beloved ti's worldwide. | | | 04-09-2005, 01:30 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Belgium Posts: 37 | You're welcome, believe me this forum helps me a lot too when I need information on the M42/M44 engine or other mods.
