Posts: 3,156 | The 95's black plastic fins are "recessed" in the chrome opening, whereas the later ones (like mine) have the fins more-or-less flush with the surface of the chrome ring (which I think looks better). Not sure if the chrome ring itself is wider, but I suppose it could easily be... | | | 01-19-2006, 02:29 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Lincoln Park Capitol Hill, Washington DC Posts: 741 | The reason I asked, I went to the junkyard and was looking for some plastic parts, such as window switch trims, headlight switch, grill pieces etc. There were 3 tis, a 98, a 97 and a 96 only one of them has a grille. My left one (driver side) broke, somebody backed into my car. __________________ It's always a great day to be underwater and play with the fish.....preserve our oceans and reefs" Fariz 1997 318ti, Hellrot (Bright Red), Dinan Stage 2 Chip 16x7 OEM sport Wheels/X-Brace/Custom Strut Brace/Cold Air Intake/M-Tec Steering Wheel/Koni Adjustable FrontShocks/ Bilstein Sport Rear Shocks /H&R Sport Springs/Custom fabricated strut tower brace/Rear Strut brace, Stromung Exhaust Future Mods: E46 17" wheels or Kosei K-1 17x8.5s | | | 01-20-2006, 01:23 AM | #6 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | If the 98 at the bone yard has a grill, I believe it will fit the 97. The 95 is definately different than your 97; not sure about the 96. I would expect it depended on the month. BUT, if the grill looks like yours (flush with the chrome rather than recessed as described in my post above) I believe it will fit. Good luck, and the dealer is always hapy to get you parts...
