I forgot also that the car has been egged while my brother owned it. It was also backed into with a tow hitch (nose panel dented in) but that was non ti-specific, just a crapass driver.

That reminds me, the TI was egged in the driveway, the convertible was next to it, but it was fine...strange!
Also my car was Tp'd at a party just for fun!

I was parked in the wal-mart parking lot, and some decided to put backing goods on my car. They covered the windshield is flour and eggs. Not fun to clean off. Seemed to be random attack.

Years later while parked on the street in Madison, someone through a street sign through the rear hatch window. Glass everywhere. They didnt steal anything, just put a broken street sign, pole side first, into the car.

I know mine was abused solidly at least once. I bought it about a year ago from a guy who works for a fairly reputable local shop and knows people in the Roswell/Alpharetta Georgia BMW community. So anyway, the kid seemed very nice and a decent mechanic. I talked with him and checked out the car before buying it. I even did a Carfax report and the only thing reported was another car tagging the back of the ti in a parking lot. Minimal damage and only to the bumper so everything looked good.
Some time later as I started to play with the car more and more I finally realized that it had apparently had a pretty decent wreck on the driver's side with several things being replaced. I'm pretty sure that the kid had himself a nice little wreck and fixed things up enough and then dumped it. In fairness there were enough signs that I probably should have been able to catch them and it's not a bad car. There's absolutely no vibration or pulling so the frame and chassis seem true. I just hate that feeling of being lied to by that little bitch.

right after I got mine.. somebody stole the shorty antenna.. unfortunatly they didn't just unscrew it.. they broke it off of the amplified mount, destroying the mount. $75 from the dealer.. I went without until a nice guy here from PR sold me one for $25

When I bought my TI, it already has key marks on both sides, and a dent in the nose. During the time of my ownership, someone back into @ IHOP, and left me with a bent hood, fender, and a scratch on the bumper. Repairs costs up to $ 1,1xx

Just got it back today, and the ebay splitters lips I bought are broken.

It definatly seems that BMWs and the Ti in particular gets a lot of abuse. When I had my old Tiburon, nobody touched it and when I wrecked it at 130,000+ miles, it still looked like new (minus the body damage from the accident)

Now I know why the guy I bought mine from always parks miles away from everyone else. I've actually been doing this too lately. I think I'll keep it up.

walking an extra 100 feet is worth not having to fix a nice door dent or scratch

thankfully, no one has ever hurt my little Ti, other than a couple of minor door dings... i noticed people in parking lots around here taking great care in opening their doors (for the most part) when parked next to my car, they respect the roundell and knew if they were caught hitting it, they'd have a repair bill up the ying... cause it would go to the best (read as super expensive) body shop around.

BUTTT If anyone intentionally did anything to my car, they would meet my louisville pretty f'ing quick. Luckily I live in a little town and any vandalism would get back to me within a few days from the little bastards bragging up how they messed up this bimmer... but whence i found those little cocklickers, id pound them right back into their mothers womb, and then kick her in the guts so she miscarried.

I just had someone smash my rear window. It really sucked because I had saved up $500 to rebuild the differential and then this happened. I'm planning to get the oil filter housing gasket and the two infamous cooling system connectors replaced next week so I at least feel like I'm making progress in getting her fixed up.
