Default Fuse # 47 whereis the @#$%^

So I installed the BMW alarms system. (plug and play) all went well except it doesnt work at all. checked power on the main red lead that comes off pin 1 (BMW side), no juice. hooked up alternate power and it works fine. In the fuse box under the hood there are 4 fuses associated with the alarm. 3 are in the box and are good, 1 #47 is supposed to be located "under the glove box". I have searched and I cannot find this. I supect this fuse maybe blown or is only installed when the alarm is installed. Anyways, WHERE IS THIS FUSE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER THE GLOVE BOX??

Try the driver's side kick-panel. There are a few fuses and relays hidden under there.

Default fuse # 47 found

For those that are looking for fuse # 47 for security system main power

Mine is a 96 TI

I spent 8 hours today looking for a fuse. I was surprised to find nothing on this site specifically regarding this. # 47 is not in the main fuse box in the E/G compartment. # 47 is responsible for the main power to the alarm harness. on the lid on the main fuse box it noted that 47 was "under the glove box." WRONG. after searching forever I found a remote plug located up high along the DRIVERS side kickpanel under the IP. There is a box with some relays on the drivers side. It was not there. It was located almost up at the firewall along the drivers kickpanel. A black completely unmarked recepticle with no fuse in it.

Maybe for most, this already has a fuse in it. Mine did not. Thanks BMW. no info in the owners manual and misinformation in the fuse box along with a completely remote and unlabeled fuse holder. Nice!!

Anyways, its working now and hopefully this will help someone else avoid such difficulties.

Thanks to those that responded.

I'm guessing this is why the factory alarm in my 96 ti is not working. I know an alarm system is installed having dismantled the passenger's side kickpanel and discovered it, but my fuse box cover doesn't say anything about alarm fuses. What amperage fuse did you throw in there?
