Call the nurse, Stat! We need Advil with a martini back! (As a fellow old guy, I know what we need at times like this!) Let' see... small point of impact, yet with force... no bruising, yet broke the skin... hmmm. You're smiling, so you feel slightly foolish about the injury, definitely something out of the ordinary... You were on your back working above your head. The knot is too large to have been made by a dropped rachet, maybe an impact driver? Possibly... Drive shaft slipped out of your hands? That would have bruised, but not made that kind of knot... Since it's on the side of your head, and not more in the middle, you saw it coming down at you and turned to minimize the blow, or something slipped and you moved your head out of the way of what ever fell, and hit it against something in the process... Or, I am completely wrong and you slipped in the shower... I keed! I was on my back, the drive shaft fell, I heard it coming and got out of it's way hitting my head on a jack stand. The skin is not split that's just a abrasion. I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade and I was working for a neighbors construction company as the yard machanic. We were trying to change the pivot pins on the bucket of a payloader and had the bucket about 6 feet in the air. I had a 2 foot pipe wrench on the pivot pin and was pulling, hanging, bouncing up and down to break it loose. Next thing I knew I was on my back with two workers asking me if I was alright. They said the wrench slipped off and I punched myself square in the forehead and knocked myself out cold. Said I was on the ground with my eyes open but nobody home for about 20 seconds. Took about 3-4 minutes to get back on my feet. No blood or harm done and we still laugh about it on occasion since the construction companies owners and sons live next door to my Dad. I would have guessed the old dropping hatch trick. Johnboy, if you clobber the other side too, it would be a cool devil horns look. So, the hardest punch you ever got was also the hardest you ever gave? That is hilarious. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 12-05-2008, 10:20 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Gulfport, Florida Posts: 3,208 | Quote: Originally Posted by b.u.ti-ful Wow, that's some detective work Wolf. Hardest I've ever been hit was a pool stick accross the forehead in a bar fight, I mean full swing, big side of stick...I don't remember **** after I got hit and needed 17 stiches to close it up plus my nose got broke and I had both eyes whites blood red for over a month. | | | 12-05-2008, 11:56 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx Hardest I've ever been hit was a pool stick accross the forehead in a bar fight, I mean full swing, big side of stick...I don't remember **** after I got hit and needed 17 stiches to close it up plus my nose got broke and I had both eyes whites blood red for over a month. | Dude!
