What blew? did a piston shoot through the crankcase or did you just blow a head gasket? If it costs too much to fix and you want to upgrade, start looking and saving for a wrecked '96+ M3 or 328 and do a swap. Otherwise try to find another m44 with low miles. If you do decide to go with a 6cyl swap, I'd consider buying the whole car from a junkyard since you'll need much more than just the motor to do the swap. If you buy just the engine, the other parts will nickel and dime you to death.

aight so if you dont have that much cash you can pull a m44 or m42 for under a grand if you really look hard and you can snatch a fairly good 323 or 325 engine for under 3 grand so its all up to u for which way u want to go.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

$4k for a US M3 engine is to much... You can get euro engines for just a little bit more than that... 1k for the swap seems low as well because you have to factor in all of the other parts.

What made you think your stock engine could handle a 200 shot of nitrous? I know guys with completely built out muscle/drag cars that only run 100 or 150 shots.

I would go with either a M3 engine or a M50 engine. Just me though.

You seem pretty relaxed after blowing your motor because of NOS... haha, well good luck.
