But only on some cars, like an evo or sti its freakin sick but when a little civic does it it seems cheesy but still sounds cool sometimes. GTi s sound sick with a nice exhaust makin that throughty sound and then the tisshhhhhh.... oooo i like that. __________________ 1993 325is Hellrot Tribute to: 97 318ti Montreal Blue R.I.P 96 318ti Schwartz II | | | 05-04-2006, 01:56 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Golden, CO Posts: 283 | what determines the sound? Number of PSI, Amount of HP or kind of BOV?? Basically the only thing that really determines the sound is what setting the bov is on and what kind. different ones have different sounds. some make almost no sound and some sound like a whisteling bird. but not a turbo expert | | | 05-04-2006, 02:12 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Tacompton, WA Posts: 309 | what would it cost to turbo a ti? __________________ 95 318ti Alpine white, E46 m3 front bumper, Clear Corners, Cosmo CAI, k&n filter, Flowmaster catback, front strut bars, sony 12" sub Kenwood 800watt amp & Aiwa Deck, stickers Future: Angel Eyes, Drop, Rims, and rear bumper 318ti.org sticker (added 100HP) | | | 05-04-2006, 02:31 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Quote: Originally Posted by BmWwHiPPin what would it cost to turbo a ti? | Depends on how much boost you wanna run. I'm sure you could do it for under $3k, but I wouldn't want to run alot of boost on a stock motor, expecially without some sort of FMU. IMO it wouldn't be worth is since there are so many cars that can be made faster for a lot cheaper. | | | 05-04-2006, 03:01 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Potomac, Maryland Posts: 230 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996Bmw318TI | I like the second one, the supra is to high for me | | | 05-04-2006, 03:14 AM | #13 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | PINK! that is so SSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCKKKK!!!!!! __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 05-04-2006, 06:09 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | A correctly installed BOV on our cars assuming its installed with a BMW MAF sensor wouldn't make any noise because it would have its outlet plumbed back into the pipe behind the MAF.
