I think mmmmmm... pizza. So I'm sort of meandering home trying to find a place to get a pizza hoagie or something portable. I pull into Deweys and circle around trying to find a close spot to park. Big SUV ahead of me (whom I know is exiting) but 15 spaces ahead I see a car pull out. Cool! A space near the front- my lucky day. Not. As I approach the space I see a blue Saturn Vue whip around the corner going for the space. I see him, wonder if he's goin for the space. Yup. Sideline- Now keep in mind I am in a super happy mood from the morning with my daughter and I'm ambivalent about Deweys cuz (I've just remembered) they don't serve sandwiches, just pizza and how am I going to eat a pizza in the car? Back to the Redneck. We're now car to car and he is clearly angry. I see him mouth "f*cking a$$hole!!" to me with a ciggie hanging out the corner of his scruffy maw. I'm like WTF? Why so uptight over a parking space noon on a friday? He parks, I wait and roll down the passenger window. He gets out of his car and slams the door clearly worked up. The following exchange ensues: Me: (calmly) Hey just so you know I'm not a f*cking a$$hole, I actually saw that space from back there before you turned the corner. RN: Really!? From way back there!? Me: Yup RN: With a car in front of you!? Me: Yup RN: Well why don't you just park right over there!? Me: Cuz I'm enjoying talking to you so much. RN: Huh? Me: Nothin. RN: Why don't you just move your little Bee Em Dubya (waving hands) along now? Me: I will but just so you know your car is newer and worth more than mine (I'm guessing a 2004-ish Saturn Vue is worth more but it's a guess). RN: Don't bullsh!t me Ih been a mechanic for 4 years! (he's in his 50's easy) Me: (sigh) That's great, you're obviously very proud. Have a great life. Enjoy knowing everything. Sadly, pizza craving gone. Took the twisty way home and enjoyed being a happier person driving something he loves. To make up for his hate I went out of my way to be nice to people getting my tuna hoagie later. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-20-2009, 08:58 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | You cannot win an argument with an idiot. EDIT: Oh wait, where do you live? Anyway, I'd be glad to move away from there anyway. I am so over confrontation. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org Last edited by 1996 328ti; 11-20-2009 at 10:47 PM. | | | 11-20-2009, 11:25 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | | | | 11-20-2009, 11:27 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: mbsc Posts: 570 | good story.. altho i thought the redneck would be in a big ol' truck | | | 11-20-2009, 11:35 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: mbsc Posts: 570 | Quote: Originally Posted by tiFreak shoulda pulled a gun on him (4:00) | now that.. was AWESOME. sounds like the passenger RN was canadian.. eh..? | | | 11-21-2009, 03:06 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti Another reason why I am so glad I moved from there. Around here you can get redneck pretty fast. I just cannot imagine being that angry over a parking space. I understand being ticked off but his first face was like rageful. I kinda think it was a BMW thing. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-23-2009, 01:18 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: VIRGINIA Posts: 324 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali I live in Cincinnati but it's the same almost everywhere. Now, it's just rude and crowded. Shame. | | | 11-23-2009, 07:46 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | Quote: Originally Posted by MacUser Damn ... in Cincinnati? Shame. | Dewey's at Harpers Point which is a nice retail area. Honestly rudeness is the exception. People around here are generally nice still... for now. this guy was off his nut. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 11-23-2009, 11:45 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: VIRGINIA Posts: 324 | Quote: Originally Posted by 96cali Dewey's at Harpers Point which is a nice retail area. Still MUCH politer than Cleveland. I'll be back in Cincinnati on Thursday for Thanksgiving Day 10K Race. Don't know what this world is becoming sometimes. Now we see why there are so much road rages and people get killed for it. Good to see you are above that and didn't play down to his level. Poor guy must be hating on all of the BMW! | | | 11-24-2009, 08:53 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: VIRGINIA Posts: 324 | Quote: Originally Posted by bmvw a dead car company | Seriously, what type of person drives a Saturn anyway? Anyone find it ironic that this happened in a city that had a strong German heritage? The ti was not looking it's best so I have no idea how/why he would be intimidated especially when he apparently knows everything about cars. Unless he head the massive growl of the M44 with stock exhaust. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
