The new suspension setup is helping too. 200$ Ebay maxspeeding coilovers, 40$ Ebay angle kit, 100$ Ebay e46 control arms. 150$ condor speed shop e46 to e36 lower control arm bushings adapters, 10mm spacers front (could use 15mm) 20mm spacers rear ( could use 25mm). The angle kit makes all the difference, made the sweet spot much wider and the Ackerman correction eliminates the front drag in mid drift. Still need more practice but here's a video of last night's wins and fails https://youtu.be/qSqc2cfGaoY | | | 08-20-2019, 08:38 PM | #4 | Member Join Date: Mar 2019 Location: Middle TN Posts: 45 | Cool bro! Ripped the top bolt ears off the coilover so I knocked it back into position at the track. Barely bent the e46 arm, I pulled and straightened the fender and nose. And I removed the bumper core and put it in the press and with some heat from a map gas torch I straightened the bumper out too. The actual frame rails only moved about 10mm and most of that was at the bumper shocks. A little pull to the side at the tow hook fixxed that. | | | 09-08-2019, 06:19 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | The wheel was the worst because there about $300 a piece | | | 02-29-2020, 05:14 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | Talked to a couple of formula drift drivers at the stl event last August and they all said to build a simulator, so I did and I think it is helping a lot. First event here in stl in a few weeks so I guess I'll find out. I also decided that Paris (my black ti) is going to drift at least 1 night this year. She might go full drift car this year too. | | | 02-29-2020, 09:08 PM | #12 | Member Join Date: Mar 2019 Location: Middle TN Posts: 45 | Nice! | | | 09-13-2020, 04:29 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | | | | 10-21-2020, 05:19 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
