Default Subframe bushing removal tool

Thank you Kitty!

While I was doing a diff swap yesterday, I finally got a chance to use the Subframe tool you sent me

The tool works great for removal of the torn original subframe bushings and installation of the new powerflex bushings.

Cranked by hand first, then greased up the shaft and used a bigger impact gun. Way faster and easier than torching and cutting them out.

Also found a different extractor for the trailing arm bushings. Way harder to remove, but got em out. Popped in a replacement set of Delrin bushings. All put back together now. Sweet!

As it was easy enough, I'll set up and rebuild and reinforce another spare subframe with a different LSD to experiment with the S52 drivetrain.

Thank you again Kitty! I hope you and Jorg are lovin life!

Rich

Are you selling a bushing removal tool? I'm interested if you are.

Not sure who you are asking. Kitty found the tool for me in Germany.

Ah, thanks! Sorry, I originally opened the thread on my phone and didn't notice which section I was in.

I moved it to Suspension for future reference.

As far as the tool, Kitty (Angelicmisskitty) found it for me as a favor in Germany. Perhaps she can share where she found it or you can arrange for her to procure one for you. I know when I did the Subframe bushings for my E39 Tour, that special tool from the UK was like $450, so this one is a bargain.

The Trailing arm tool, I picked up from someone here for a great price.

Both tools together made extracting and installing the 6 bushings about a 1 hour job once the subframe was out of the car. I will now work to renew the subframe bushings on the other TIs and Z3s as I found mine ripped on the S52 TI.

Cheers!

yup, mine looks the same. just grease up that threaded bolt as it will need to budge the stubborn bushing.

Thanks Sam!
