nille, why didn´t u call me today?

nevermind

under the seat, there should be some wires

these wires are whats giving you the problems im sure. it happens sometimes when passengers in the back seat with big feet start kicking about. it can easily lead to a disconected sensor

if the sensor in the seat has been damaged, the it will need to be replaced.

if the light goes out in 10 seconds of starting the car then thats normal op. procedure

if it hasn´t gone out after 15 seconds then there is a problem

let me know what the situ. is and ill get the boys at work to advise

Hilsen

I would not try rigging the SRS.
If you rig the mat then you probably need to keep the seatbelt latched.

I'm told that both air bags will deploy instead of just the driver's.
So you are really not accomplishing anything other than an attempt to turn off the light. You might as well pull the bulb.
pulling the bulb doesn't completely kill the idiot light.

if it's coming on and then switching off, then the fault is "fixed" but the SRS light needs to be "reset". Least that's been the case with my airbag light issues....which is on now all the time cause I install the Mtech II, and haven't reset the light after adding the SRS-Sensor Gizmo to fool the system that I still have a driver's side airbag.

Yeah sorry Mallard; it's been a busy day! It doesn't seem like the wires have come undone, so I'm prone to thinking that it's the mat sensor thats faulty. How does the mat sensor actually work? Is it like a bathroom weight scale giving the box a variable signal, or is it purely a matter of current running through it or not?? It must be possible bypassing the system!

My light is on for at minute or two....

Nille,

you could always just leave something heavy on the passenger seat, like a brick. . . . . .

My airbag light is now on all the time. I gave some neighbours a lift the other day, sitting in the back, and I thought one of them might have disconnected a sensor with their feet, but as far as I can see the cables under the front seats are all plugged in. Isn't the airbag control unit UNDER the rear seat? Can somebody sitting on it cause a problem?

Great work Mallard! I've hosted it at my website (direct link):

Cheers!

The wiring diagrams are a bit small; do you have the scans in higher resolution?
