I have the Two Button Key Fob, the car is a E36 2000 316i SE. I have opened the bonnet and checked what i can see and everything seems fine, when i lock the car via the fob, you can here the doors lock but no chirp or sounds, then approximately 5 seconds later the alarm sounds ? Any idea's i have checked all the doors and boot shut etc but this does not help. Any help appreciated | | | 09-26-2009, 07:59 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | when you shut the doors, are all your interior lights off? maybe something is not telling the computer that it is shut (ie, the door is open, or the trunk is not shut, the hood is not shut) then even with the alarm activated, i am pretty sure the alarm will go off.. and for no noise, sometimes mine does not chirp, or makes a really low pitch chirp.. check to make sure that the interior lights are all turning off, and if they are, and there is jsut really no reason the alarm shoulg go off, let me know, i will pull up a wiring diagram and see if i can look into it.. good luck __________________ Check out our new website! https://soltechsolutionsllc.com/ Green Your Decor with the Aspect! BMW's alarm systems are so compliated, it is rare for them to work.. haha. sometimes mine does not always make the chrip sound, but it still works.. yours might have been some kind of switch that lost contact.. or maybe the switch is going bad.. also, could have just been some kind of fluke.. if it does it again, remove the connect to the battery for 10 minutes, and then reconnect it.. sometimes the system just needs a good reboot.. __________________ Check out our new website! https://soltechsolutionsllc.com/ Green Your Decor with the Aspect! There are two bolts and you can adjust the plate to hold the hatch down tighter if that is the issue. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | Alarm woe's | applecrisp | Electrical | 3 | 12-29-2008 10:07 PM | |
