I will address the suspension in a few months, I have not fully decided what direction I'm going to go there but it will be getting all the urethane I carry. The December Volume is already up and I have started working on January already. The previous owner put a lot of love into that interior and it looks truly amazing for having the better part of 200k miles on it. It will be staying with the car. I won't be going crazy with it. If someday it gets a swap you will find it hard to be disappointed (I may have something in mind ) I am keeping everything I take off so the next owner will be able to put it back to stock should they so desire. The first round of maintenance snowballed a little as it seems I came down with a case of while-I-have-this-apart-I-might-as-well-do-that... I'll post up some pictures of the current state over the weekend. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! It was not bad but it had 45k miles on it. - Upgraded to an 88deg thermostat - Changed Spark Plugs (NGK BKR6EQUP) That is all I completed today but I did make progress tearing things apart. - Pulled Radiator - Removed upper intake manifold to get to idle control valve - Removed oil filter housing for gasket replacement - Removed plastic coolant fitting on block (it was not leaking but it came off in 2 pieces... so I got lucky) I decided to replace the radiator, coolant hoses, and the plastic fitting. I figured I might as well take a few extra steps in the name of reliability while I'm in there fixing the oil filter housing leak. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! I hate it when simple projects snowball. I can't just fix one thing and call it done, I'm always thinking "well while I have this out" or "since I'm replacing this, I might as well replace this..." | | | 01-23-2012, 04:43 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Quote: Originally Posted by cooljess76 Ed you sound just like me. My E46 wagon is a prime example. I bought that with every intention of keeping it bone stock... in fact I even went an entire year without doing anything but tint, fluids, and filters. When I did an autocross and blew both front struts and broke a rear spring the flood gates opened... and it continues to evolve. I'm trying to keep myself under control when it comes to this little red club sport but I'm not making any promises. __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE! I'm interested to see what you use . I'm also trying to keep the 4cyl and just make it more balanced and fun for the corners. Good stuff. | | | 01-25-2012, 07:34 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Fl Posts: 1,353 | Quote: Originally Posted by anassa Nice idea, I'm assuming your going to something about the dual mass flywheel? Good stuff. | I may go with a lightweight flywheel but the car has a few more pressing issues to address first. Thanks for tuning in! __________________ SUPPORT 318ti.org! CLICK THE LINK ABOVE!
