Default M52 swap 96 318ti getting 97 328i engine

Okay, so we took a running and driving car and pulled it in next to the 318ti. Swapped everything over, DME, EWS box, ignition, engine, gearbox, cluster.
Swapped the 328 return fuel line to use the fuel pressure regulator from the 97 in the ti.
Block off plates on the exhaust secondary pump on head/manifold and on heater core supply lines. (race car)
Removed vacuum reservoir for muffler flap and plugged vacuum line.

Hooked up a battery and no start, no crank, no fuel pump.
Checked grounds in interior (mostly stripped in prep for cage)
Main block ground on exhaust side is connected.
Have 12V at starter.
Battery is good, also connected to running car just to see.

There is no audible sound from fuel pump and the starter isn't doing anything. We swapped the ignition, EWS ring, box behind the cluster and the EWS box behind the glovebox from the 328i.

Tried to buy the guide a few months ago but was refunded which was okay as I knew it was mostly plug and play. Though still curious as to what the middle BIG plug next to the fuse box that exists on the 328 but not on the 318ti is for.
I've spent the last 6 hours using this forum to help guide us in this swap and searching and helping troubleshoot issues as they arise but we are calling it a night. Any ideas for where we should explore next night we are down?

Maybe a dumb question but did you swap the chip in your key with the donor key chip? The ews from the donor is looking for donor key chip. Some people tywrap the donor key in the antenna ring and leave it dangle under the dash and use the original key to start the car. Some people swap the chip inside the key. I ended up swapping over all the lock cylinders from the doors and ignition and hatch.

fyi - no need to swap the antenna ring. In principle the DME & EWS & key chip must match. The antenna ring just sends a signal any working ring will do.
