Default Exhaust pipe diameter?

From what I was able to search, (car is not in driveway so cannot check) the stock exhaust pipe diameter post cat is 2.25". I also saw somewhere that the magnaflow exhaust pipe diameter is only 2".

I know none of these will really give any real performance improvement, but I would think that going to a smaller diameter would actually reduce performance. Sure, maybe it has a bigger muffler (and noisier)?

BTW I do have a rotted muffler and am still contemplating replacing my stock(ish) muffler. But haven't found many decent options, other than $800-1000 options (still with little improvement). Thinking just going stainless walker or something that will last, but not seeing the advantage of anything else.

Ok, well no answers. I see that Turner motorsport is offering the supersprint for 25% off. I can't find it listed anywhere on Supersprint's website or anyone who is selling - does anyone know the diameter of the supersprint pipe itself? (not the muffler, but the pipe itself)

Thanks in advance, I doubt this sale will last.

If I've been told once I've been told a thousand times, size Does matter! Although I'm not sure here. I think any of those pipes would have plenty of girth to get the job done on the petite 1.9L.

Stromung is the other one you might look into, the sticky thread here I believe has the tone of both. If patient you can probably find a decent used one for an 1/8th the price. Or used stock for even cheaper.
