carefully pry the old strips of molding off your car. the new m-tech trim should come with the clips already attached. if you bought used moldings...then you can probably try to re-use some of your old clips.

I did this a few years ago and I believe I used 13 per side, so 26 total.

Did you have any issues with the install? I have the skinny Ti side strips currently and would love for them to match the front and rear bumpers eventually. I have read around the forum and seen a lot of mixed reviews on any kits that actually work (new or used).

Also, if anyone knows of the "just right" kit I need to look for I'd be grateful!

No problems at all! Bought some new clips from ebay & used the same holes for the clips that were used by the skinny ones.

I cant see what can go wrong really unless you end up with a rotten set of strips (some go rusty on the backs) or you get fobbed off with strips for a coupe or something but the fitting is easy.

So is there an authority for the wider strips that us Ti users should go with, bavauto or ???

Thanks also btw!

OEM is going to be your best route. I don't think I've ever heard of an aftermarket company making them, but I could be wrong. Compare bavauto's pricing with getbmwparts.com.

When I bough mine, Tischer (getbmwparts.com) and ECS Tuning (ecstuning.com) had them for approximately the same price (I think it was within a dollar), but since ECS's shipping turned out to be cheaper, I went with ECS.

Here's the M moulding retrofit kit part number 51132267003, if you didn't already have it.
