98 318ti Red M package 77K miles

98 318ti M, with California Roof. 5 speed. Only 77K miles. 2nd owner. All maintenance records - literally have the original window sticker. Well maintained. Most of the options: cruise, heated leather trimmed sport seats, great cold air. No cd player (hookup is in back though). No body damage. Seats are worn, but no rips. Still gets great mileage - smogged in California.
Issue: California roof sticks and won't retract. The motors seems to be fine. I think the cables and such need to be cleaned. My mechanic doesn't touch roofs - haven't searched for someone reliable to look at it yet (and don't want to go near the dealer)
$5500 obo.
Looking to buy something new.

There are two different things: the California top, and the California package. The CA top was available in a few years, but I THINK the CA package was only in '96. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of? Or, perhaps, I've had too much Kahlua and need a nap? LOL

Cpalumbo - You should post a close-up of the worn area on the drivers seat. that's probably going to be the worst section of the entire interior. From what I can see in the pic you've posted, even that doesn't look too bad. Good luck with the sale!

By 98 the open air roof or California roof was a straight up option.
California Edition I guess was considered an Individual.
