Question Will these tires/rims work on my car?

Hey, I just got a pair of snow tires for free size 206-60-16, my current bmw tires are 205/60-15, so these tires wont fit on my rims?

So I found a pair of rims on craigslist, R16 Borbet 5 spoke alloy rims 120mm bolt pattern.

So my questions are will the snow tires fit on my current rims? If not will they fit on the Borbet rims? And will these Borbet fit on my bmw?

nope wont fit the current rims
rim size 16"
all other measurements are more that within tolerance
but the wheel sizes are different,

the borbet wheels can take the tyres, but without knowing the ET measurement, its hared to say

Ok so my bmw 318ti has bolt pattern 5X120mm? Correct

These rims have bolt pattern as the guy who selling them says

"As best I can measure, the bolt pattern is 5 X 4 5/8 in." which is about 117.8mm which could round up to 120mm prob?

If so do these rims fit right on without adding any other hardware?

Bolt pattern has nothing to do with offset. Offset = backspacing. Offset determines how far the wheels will be recessed in the fenders. The lower the offset, the further the wheels will stick out. e36's use a standard offset of around 38-41mm while e39 5 series' use 20mm offset. Some of the older model BMW's can even fit 13mm offset wheels.

And no, 5 x 4 5/8 does not "round up" to 5 x 120mm. I've seen people use 5 bolt chevy wheels on BMWs, but the bolt pattern still isn't perfect since the chevy uses a 5 x 4.75 which equates to 5 x 120.65mm.

Aside from that, the center bore needs to match as BMW wheels are hubcentric which means they use the centerbore to center themselves on the hub. Other vehicle manufactures use the studs to center the wheel on the hubs. The e36 uses a 72.56mm centerbore while e39's use a 74.1mm centerbore.

Did you read my post? You need a 5x120 bolt pattern, 72.56mm centerbore and an offset around 38-41mm. Sure you can "make" anything "work" if you don't care about safety and/or cost. Why not search for a set of wheels that actually "fit" your car?

Well Im just looking for a low price set of rims to use in the winter, not looking to spend much on brand new rims.

check out bimmerforums classified section or e46fanatics classifieds. There's plenty of used sets of e36 wheels floating around.

"55" is the aspect ratio(sidewall height), it has nothing to do with rim fitment. Never seen a "206"/55/16, seen plenty of 205/60/16's though. The 205 or 206 is the tire width. These should fit on a 7" wide wheel ie;16x7.
