Default 18x8.5, 18x9.5 Millie MM2's

Well, finally home to test fit, and the story in my other thread was even more cause.

The couple rear pics are of a 255 35 18 on an 18x9.5 rim in the rear. I did rub pretty badly at the rearmost part of the quarter panel, where the bumper meets, and it will keep me from running a 255 wide. I could roll the quarters, but I like my gas mileage and don't have enough power to justify the width. Also, they fit fine with the car stationary, but under acceleration/cornering is when they rubbed BAD. Wore the letters/words off the tires doing a lap around the block.

The side shot is with both front rims on one side, so a 255 35 18 on a 8.5" on both F&R. they look MUCH better than the Fox Evo6's I had on there IMO.

hey dude, you could easily roll the fenders a bit to make them fit, if you haven't already. I used a block of wood and a sledge hammer, a couple whacks shouldn't hurt the paint too bad. Also, I thought mine was rubbing in the same spot you described. Turned out that it wasn't the fender at all, it was just the corner of the plastic bumper where it meets the wheel arch. A little dremmel on the inside of that plastic and it should be fine.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Sorry, guess I wasn't clear in my description. They WILL fit, and will be on my car soon, just not with 255's in the rear, that was the only problem.

And Jess, I may try that anyway before I buy tires. I know it's the metal vs the plastic, since that plastic is gone anyway from my winter tires I still don't think I'll run 255's. They look AMAZING, but I like getting 26mpg at 75mph. Don't want to lose that, and right now I can't justify the extra cost/mpg loss, plus the fact I don't have to power to need a tire that wide.

And just to make sure I stated it, that picture is with both fronts on the car, neither of the rears. I need to be able to drive the car, so I just did that for now to check out the stance. Not going on the highway with that arrangement, but I can get from town to town.

Oh, BTW, at 55 I get around 35mpg Found that out when I had to use the spare and stayed at 55.

Tony, I don't love you quite that much

New pics in a couple days. They're mounted, but waiting on the front tires. 225 35 on 9.5" wide rears, and just ordered 215 35's for the 8.5" wide fronts.

Now where to get spacers on a LIMITED budget. hmmm

Nah, decided to go with the stretched look. I could have ran 255's in the rear pretty easily, and probably in the front as well. Decided I'd rock the stretched look for a while, then when these wear I'm going to go as wide as I can and get some serious traction

Tires were shipped, so pics will be posted within the week. I'm sure I'd have no problem selling them, but I've spent 2.5 times what I paid for the wheels on new tires I need to make a friend with a tire changer.
