Unhappy Confused! radio code.

So I need to enter the radio code on my business CD player. It has been a long time since I've done this. I found what I thought to be my code. It was 0890. But this cannot be my radio code, it seems that 1. it is supposed to be 5 digits and 2. you cant enter, 0, 8, or 9, every number of this code.

I called the dealer gave them the radio serial number and they gave me a code to try, it didn't work, they gave me anther, that didn't work either.

Does anyone have any ideas whats going on? I'm stopping by the dealer monday and they will probably have to send the radio somewhere to be recoded.

Thanks,

David

hey man after entering the wong code too many times (5x).....you will have to reset the radio. I was told to turn the key forward one click and leave it for 30 minutes. This worked for me, but I think it was only around 20 minutes.
You may also try pulling and replacing the negative battery cable first.
You probably have the right code....

Thanks for the reply.

On my raido if you enter the code incorrectly 3 times the radio will say "code wait" and you have to leave the radio on for 1 hour before you will be able to try again. Disconnecting the battery will not work, you will still have to wait the hour.

I tried entering the code the dealer gave me 3 times, then waiting the hour and trying again.

I had something similar happen to me. The car wouldn't let me enter the code with the car turned on. It had to be with the key at the position right before it starts. Hope this may help.
