Default steering wheel shake

not sure if this is in the right section but I've noticed that my steering wheel shakes when I press the brakes at around 40 mph, there's no pulsing in the brake pedal, it's just in the wheel and when I'm driving, it doesn't shake, does any know what it could be and if it's a cheap fix

Have you checked to see if your rotors are warped? I had the same issue with mine TI (hence my previous question regarding brake pads).

Could be warped, pad deposits or cracked.
You want the problem to go away, replace your rotors.

First I'd do some hard stops to see if you can clean the rotors up a bit.

If you do hard stops make sure you dont do them at high speeds.
I got brand new rotors, calipers, and pads last winter and the rotors are guaranteed not to warp and i get a minor shake in my steering wheel on an occassion when braking. So maybe its the pads but if its got a really bad shake i would suspect its the rotors.

You can do a visual inspection of fig 5.
If they are torn, you will now.

When my LCA bushings were shot, my steering wheel shake like crazy under hard braking. Not so much under light braking. On turns my car felt like it had grocery cart wheels up front.
