Default Parting out 318ti (Denver, Colorado)

As some of you have seen in my Compact Rally Car build thread, I pulled everything off my car...even the sound deadening. I'm converting the car to 5-speed drivetrain from a 1995 M3, so many of the items I removed from the car are no longer needed.

The car was Boston Green and had 240,000 miles on it.

Automatic Transmission & ECU $100
Airbags (both driver & passenger) $50 ea.
6 disc CD changer with black carpet cover $50
Springs $20
ABS Module $50
Plastic Engine Undertray $20
Tow hitch & 2 bike carrier $100

Thanks for looking,

Dave

I need outside rear-passenger molding. black strip just in front of the rear wheel. I need Fog lights.. including the wiring/toggle button. Also, I need the rear overhead handle behind the drivers seat. handle, or just the plastic piece around it. If shipping is a problem, I could probably get somebody to pick it up for me. I just moved from Aurora 2 years ago.

Sweet Jebus with a donut, tell me you have a functioning, quiet cat.

And you are willing to ship it.

Hi guys,

Shipping isn't a problem on the smaller items, just not sure if I'm able to deal with shipping an engine or transmission. Took me a while to figure out a box for the door panels.

The car doesn't live at my house, its in a buddies shop. I actually got this weekend off work, so I will be heading down to the shop on Sunday to work on the car, and I will rummage thru the pile of parts and get back to you guys early next week with what I found.

Mouldings - all still attached to the body work or doors, unsure of condition. What's the easy way to remove without damaging?

Interior Handles - Definately removed from the car, but only 50% sure that I've still got them...may have broken trim around the handle as well.

Interior Carpet cover - only about 50/50 on if I still have that...may have been bent during removal.

Cat - still have it for sure, but I never took the car thru emissions, so I have no idea if its fully functional. The car ran smooth and didn't have any rattles.

If anyone else has requests, try to get them to me by Saturday afternoon. I'm usually only able to get to the shop once a week. I won't take $$ from anyone till I've confirmed that I have the part and you've seen the condition. Once I do have $$ in hand, I almost always get parts shipped out that day or the next.

Thanks!

Dave

What about the fog lamps? Also, are you parting out the M3? Will the rear spoiler fit on our cars?

I will look up molding removal methods in the morning and get back with you.

just grab one end and pull straight out, it's just held on with clips with rubber grommets

D'oh, I knew I had forgotten something. My 318 didn't have fog lamps. The M3 swap I grabbed was just transmission, engine, & wiring harness, so there aren't any .

Everything has already been removed from the car, stuff that was in OK or better condition was saved, but anything that was bent or cracked during removal went straight to the trash bin. You can see pics of the teardown here to see what I mean about the car being stripped :

I need the rubber molding on the outside on passenger window. The one on the lower part that runs through the door, not the one around the window. Is that available and in good condition?
Thanks!

since no fog lamps, do you have the black molding on the front bumper, passenger side, where the fog lamp would have gone?

How is the inner seal for the hatch? worth taking off?

Front-passenger side inner fender-well?

I am going to be using the car for rallying, so I will be keeping most of the dust seals.

For the moment I'm also planning on running the stock bodywork, so fenders, doors, hatch, fender liners aren't for sale.

Sorry guys,

Dave

We use the cheap Chinese import fenders and hoods for race cars, they are thinner and lighter... LOL

Where do you get those, and what kind of weight savings are you finding? I would love the delage kit or the one offered by Harry Hockley motorsports, as its a bunch cheaper and fairly similar.

Ok this is a totally random part that I want and hopefully you will know what I am talking about. It is part of the center console/storage. It is a black square ash tray looking thing on the drivers side but toward the rear. If you open it up you should be able to unscrew it and pop it right out. Mine is broken and I simply want one that doesn't rattle when I drive. How much would shipping be to 07045? Thanks.

Hi guys,

Good news:

I do have the cat section and it looks in good shape. Its a bit long, so shipping might be expensive. LMK if you'd want it all in one piece, or if you want me to cut it at the joint before the cat (& leave rear flange intact).

Bad news:

I couldn't find the center console, so no parts available from it.
I couldn't find any of the handles.
Nothing relating to carpet left, including the covers for the edges of it.
