CAI's will help, definately. Just out of curiosity, where did you order yours from? Let us know how it turns out.

bimmerdude...i know you have a 97, and this is your thread, but this won't help you any. this is for all the people with 95s out there.

i got in my chip from tms (turner) and installed it this evening. and it is wonderful. adds (according to the site) 11 hp (@ 5500 rpm), 19 ft-lbs (@ 2500 rpm), and increases the rev limit to 6900 rpms. and it's $250 with free shipping...even second day.

needless to say, i like.

Please be clear y'all on 1995 M42/OBD1 vs 1996-99 M44/OBD2. If you look closely at the Eurosport page it gives a manuf date of 1/95 with no end date. That says to me it's not available for the 1996+ M44s. Am I reading this wrong?

As I understand it only Dinan, BavAuto and Technique Tuning offer M44 reprogramming software (not chips).

It was a general note to everyone. To say "I want a chip for my '97" is inherently wrong though I understand the intent of wanting to upgrade the software. Just trying to be clear so the thread starter some concise info from the effort. You were more clear than others, no offense intended.

And the "y'all" was a boondoggle- I'm a yankee.
