Just like the last group buy, if 3 people can commit to the order, the group buy price for the front sway bar will be $180 shipped. Two people, myself included, are ready to go. We just need one more person to qualify for the $180 price. Please post up if you are interested and can commit. | | | 11-29-2007, 02:45 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | damn wish i had money to jump on! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 11-30-2007, 05:00 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | bumpidump __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. What is the difference between installing both front and rear aftermarket sways vs. just the front aftermarket swaybar? 2. Is the front bar alone that much of a difference? 3. How does the rear enhance performance? The first three questions can probably be summed up in one answer. 4. Are these effective on a base model where the only "mod" so far is to take out the foam from the airbox? __________________ 2005 Steel Blue 325ia: Upgrades/Mods: Lots. 1996 Alpine White: 318ti: Dinan Stage 1 Software. It's counter-intuitive, but true. | | | 12-10-2007, 11:11 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Lake Stevens, WA Posts: 119 | Well, that might be true, but in general, according to every suspension design book I've read and personal experience, more roll stiffness transfers grip to the opposite end of the car. __________________ Pete N | | | 12-11-2007, 02:42 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Odenton, MD Posts: 419 | Quote: Originally Posted by PeteN95 Well, that might be true, but in general, according to every suspension design book I've read and personal experience, more roll stiffness transfers grip to the opposite end of the car. | And you are very right... but the BMW is an odd ball when it comes to handling. | | | 12-11-2007, 03:45 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: MD Posts: 92 | You'll also find many WRX guys in STX going with the big front bar - it is counter intuitive, but many guys are running 27mm front bars and something smaller in the back. More than a few WRX suspension gurus are backing up this suspension theory with better track times and improved feel at the local autocrosses. You can check NASIOC's suspension threads for reference. __________________ Chookeat | | | 10-21-2008, 09:03 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Odenton, MD Posts: 419 | | | | 10-26-2008, 06:30 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | I posted in that thread, if you can get the bar to Honolulu, Hawaii for the $180, I'm 100% in. | | | 10-26-2008, 07:05 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Auburn, WA Posts: 1,814 | any 1 know the size for the stock swaybars and stock sport sway bars? __________________ 5/96 318TI Sport BIG TURBO | | | 10-26-2008, 07:11 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | 24/14 non sport 25/16 sport or something to that nature.
