I measured the two shafts from flange to flange and the Ti shaft was 2 inches longer, then I measured the trannys from bellhousings to flanges and the ZF was about 1.5"-2" longer(hard to accurately measure). However, what really matters is how far the transmission output flange extends past the tranny mounts. Maybe I'll check that today for you, but using the M3 shafts is still up in the air as far as fitment goes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but as I said before, if it's too short, just use the M3 front section with the Ti rear section. | | | 08-22-2009, 03:32 AM | #452 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Installed my x-brace today. Good thing I bought two extra nutserts because I managed to mangle the first two up pretty badly. After that, I said screw it and tack welded them in place They held fine and allowed me to fully lock down the nutserts. | | | 09-11-2009, 09:24 PM | #453 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Something tells me the engine is going in... __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 09-11-2009, 10:41 PM | #454 | Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Ventura County, CA/ Seattle WA Posts: 47 | i hear itll be soon, very soon. This weekend I'll be installing the oil pan, rear crank seal, clutch/flywheel and tranny on the motor. So it has to come off the stand and once those things are done it's going straight into the engine bay Stephen is right though, I'm kinda waiting on the powder coater to finish my wheels. There's a long story in my other thread, but basically I've just been getting dicked around by multiple powder coating shops for months now. It's been problem after problem, excuse after excuse and I'm just sick of it. Seriously, how hard is it to powder coat a freakin set of wheels! They couldn't even get the color right, I finally had to settle for black The first shop took almost two months to powder coat the centers. Now this other shop has the barrels which were supposed to be done last Tuesday after having them for a week. Then they were supposed to be done on Wednesday, then Thursday and I didn't even bother calling today, they were supposed to call me but of course they didn't. I'm so pissed I don't even want to hear what they have to say. Last time I talked to the guy he said they messed up and had to redo them I've spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to get these wheels refinished and I just don't understand what's so hard about it. All they have to do is blast them, shoot them and bake them But yeah, there's a lot going down this weekend. Hopefully everything will go smooth and the motor will be ready to drop by Monday. The rest of the drivetrain is finished. I have just about everything I need. | | | 09-12-2009, 12:53 AM | #457 | Moderator Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Maryland Posts: 3,220 | We are racing Jess? | | | 09-12-2009, 12:54 AM | #458 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Mine is planned to start on Wednesday, so hurry up boys! __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
