Default Resonator recommendations

The PO of my 97 Ti cobbled together an abomination of an exhaust from the downpipe back with tubing diameter ranging from 2" to 2 1/2" to 2 1/4" including a tractor muffler as a "resonator". It sounded awful to say the least. Last week I used my friends shop and welded up my own "custom" 2 1/4" stainless exhaust from the downpipe back. I ended up needing a new cat and I bought a new Magnaflow muffler. This thing is LOUD! It's a deeper sound (and there are no leaks). It sounds so much better than before but it's still loud. I wanted to add a resonator to the center section initially but I couldn't source one quick enough.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a resonator that might help reduce the volume?

without knowing what price range you are considering, go online to www.solo-performance.com and give Jeff a call. I bought a complete system from him and was very impressed with the quality of the components as well as the customer service. he gave me some good advice regarding noise levels, because I was trying to tone mine down a bit. good luck. mac

My exhaust is custom because of my swap, but I went with a Magnaflow Cat and Resonator, with a Borla turbo exhaust.

Very good sound, low key, no drone, yet opens up nicely at WOT.

On Max (still a 4 cyl.), I run a OE cat and midpipe with a Supersprint exhaust catback.
