Posts: 3,156 | GTG and BBQ at J!M's place in CT How about a weekend get-together and BBQ at my place in CT? I have lots of parking available in a school lot next door, an even bigger one a mile away too. Decent size yard, and BBQ grill. If everyone brings *something* to eat or drink, there will be plenty for everyone. There are some great twisty roads just down the street too- we could even arrange a ride for everyone... PM me or e-mail direct at jim[dot]leach[at]sulzer[dot]com. I need to get some more miles on my car! PS BRING PARTS!!!! we can have a nice swap-meet too!!! | | | 02-25-2008, 04:49 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | This is a very good idea. How far are you from Boston? BTW I am collecting info for a 332ti M3 project. Want to get an idea how much the whole thing would cost me __________________ '96 BMW 318ti Hellrod 5SPD - SOLD '04 BMW X3 2.5L Alpine White PRM PKG Automatic/Steptronic PRM PKG - SOLD '01 BMW M3 6SPD Imola Red Luxury PKG '11 BMW X5 xdrive35d - 3.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel - The Ultimate Oil Burner | | | 02-25-2008, 04:54 PM | #3 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | I am right off of rt 91, at the Mass line. (exit 46 of of 91- then a couple miles to me) Almost exactly between NY and Boston (sort-of). From the west, take 90 to 91 south. From the south-west take 84 to 91. from the East, take 90 to 91 (or more complicated directions available involving 84 to 190 etc.) From the North, take 91 It is really quite easy. There are plenty of hotels, shopping etc. in town as well, to keep the other half occupied while the boys play... | | | 02-25-2008, 05:17 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | It's not far just about 120 miles from home. It's still cold out, so we should make it the end of March or April when the temparatures are warmer. I believe the best day of the week is Sunday when most of us are off. If we come up with something we have to set up the date in advance to make sure the people will have time to arrange their schedule. Then we'll spread the word and there you go __________________ '96 BMW 318ti Hellrod 5SPD - SOLD '04 BMW X3 2.5L Alpine White PRM PKG Automatic/Steptronic PRM PKG - SOLD '01 BMW M3 6SPD Imola Red Luxury PKG '11 BMW X5 xdrive35d - 3.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel - The Ultimate Oil Burner | | | 02-25-2008, 05:30 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | Pretty simple, really. I think a Friday-Sunday event is not a bad idea. Show-n-shine, swap meet and scenic/twisty drive... By the way, your car is HellRot, not HellRod colored... Hell= light, bright (depends on use) and Rot= Red | | | 02-25-2008, 05:32 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | Quote: Originally Posted by tol4o It's not far just about 120 miles from home. I need time to rebuild my engine after my timing chain snapped. | | | 02-25-2008, 06:55 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | 1. dahamler (Dan) I hope to bring the 332ti. | | | 02-26-2008, 04:54 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | 1. dahamler (Dan) I hope to bring the 332ti. 2. Plus I’ll be in Freedom, NH this weekend working. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 03-31-2008, 04:07 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Boston, MA Posts: 1,152 | Okay March has come and gone so anybody interested in signing up for the meet at J!M's place? Mid or end of April? Need to contact J!M about his schedule. He lives in CT so maybe a NE meet from all the different states. | | | 03-31-2008, 04:12 PM | #11 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | yep. No interest it seems. I can provide a place, but others need to be a bit more pro-active too. I think the enduring cold, miserable weather may have caused a lack of interest lately; however it is warming up... | | | 03-31-2008, 04:20 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Weymouth, MA Posts: 215 | Count me in if it's Sunday and the weather is good __________________ '96 BMW 318ti Hellrod 5SPD - SOLD '04 BMW X3 2.5L Alpine White PRM PKG Automatic/Steptronic PRM PKG - SOLD '01 BMW M3 6SPD Imola Red Luxury PKG '11 BMW X5 xdrive35d - 3.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel - The Ultimate Oil Burner | | | 04-01-2008, 05:36 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Ma Posts: 176 | I just wished you were a bit closer to Boston, that's all | | | 04-01-2008, 06:28 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Posts: 379 | Id be down if I was within a 10 hour drive, or the country for that matter!
