This is a joint event between PBOC and BMWCCA. I just checked the registration list and there are a few Ti's signed up. Two of them in the race group. I will definitely make sure to get a lot of pictures of the Ti's and other hot BMWs that will be there. January 16th-20th. There will be a six hour endurance race on the 16th from 3pm-9pm. | | | 12-12-2007, 08:48 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Jacksonville, Florida Posts: 322 | Where can I find out more information on this? I wanna go! lol | | | 12-12-2007, 09:19 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | www.pbocflorida.com There are still spots available at the DE. No novice drivers though, so you would have had to attended at least 1 or 2 DEs in the past. I've joined the site cfbmw.org here recently and there are several members there that are attending. The bimmerworld guys will also be there. It will be crowded, but I think it will be a lot of fun. I'm running all 4 days in the solo group. My car is getting teched right now. | | | 12-12-2007, 10:49 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Jacksonville, Florida Posts: 322 | Awesome! Thanks I have attended a DE at Roebling as well as raced there, and I regularly autocross so it looks like I'd be able to participate as long as my car is ready by that point in time! | | | 12-13-2007, 04:26 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Yeah, you should be ok. You'll just have to email the registrar and let her know your experience and they will clear you to run with them in intermediate. Novice group with PBOC is really for people who have never been on a track before. | | | 01-22-2008, 02:51 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Man.. What a weekend.. The car once again ran flawlessly.. Just had to bleed the brakes and rotate the tires on Saturday morning. Other then that, fill her up, check tire pressures, and she is good to go... Some of my laps on Saturday were timed and I was coming in at about 3:02 to 3:05 in traffic. There was a E30 318is out there that was at a similar level of engine prep, but he has done a lot more weight reduction. He thinks his best time is somewhere around a 2:46 or so with r-comps. I'm still on street tires. So after losing another 300 pounds off the car, running r-comps, and more track time I should be able to find 15 seconds. He had all lexan windows in the rear, everything gone from the interior, all accessories stripped, and lightweight flywheel, and a shortened and very light exhaust system. He said his car was around 2150#. A Ti should be able to match that weight.. Just need a tow vehicle before mine will get that light. The fastest cars out there this weekend were running in the 2:12 to 2:15 range. Porsche GT3 race prepped at like 2:21. The Spec miata's in the race group were running between 2:40 to 2:50 depending on their level of prep. The Bimmerworld car was running like a 2:26 fastest lap. And some photos- Tequila!!! Give me about two or three weeks and I will have professional photos of the Ti going around the track. There is a really good photographer to goes to these events and takes pictures. He sells a photo cd with all of the pictures of your car for a pretty good price. I took a look at what he had already on his computer Sunday morning and there are some really nice shots. There are one or two of me lifting the inside tire on turn 17. | | | 02-26-2008, 09:00 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Pics arrived. Took a bit longer to get them as this company also does a lot of professional work for the Rolex24, and the Daytona 500. Just a little bit foggy- More fog, and a new M5 behind me, if I had to guess this guy was not familiar with Sebring as he was slow in that car. Another friend of mine in a new m5 that same weekend was blowing my doors off- Side shot- Looks like the end of warm up lap, coming back through turn1- Coming through 17, that tire may be up- Another 17 shot, definitely light under that tire- | | | 02-26-2008, 09:00 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | The R32 I mentioned in another thread- | | | 02-26-2008, 09:12 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Great White North!
