Just a quick question to see if anyone is running H&R race springs on a daily driver, what shocks they are running, and if they have any pics because I am considering getting them ... also if anyone is running them with the stock sport shocks how long they lasted and also suggestions/comments on camber kits. Thanks | | | 10-19-2005, 12:40 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Pomfret Ct Posts: 277 | Quote: Originally Posted by amd2132 Just a quick question to see if anyone is running H&R race springs on a daily driver, what shocks they are running, and if they have any pics because I am considering getting them ... also if anyone is running them with the stock sport shocks how long they lasted and also suggestions/comments on camber kits. Thanks for the info. | | | 10-19-2005, 12:46 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: May 2005 Posts: 46 | also curious about how much total you paid for install, shocks, and springs. As long as you have a spring compressor and a jack you should be ok. We kind of cheated b/c he's a mechanic at a hinda dealership so we did it in his bay. The guy I got them from, however, said that he did them in his drive way. The backs are pretty easy b/c all you have to do is get like a 200 lb friend to stand on the hub and you can yank the springs right out. The fronts took a bit longer though. I guess the only thing really holding you back would be a spring compressor but I'll bet you could find one to use (maybe at a garage or something). | | | 10-19-2005, 02:14 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: MD/VA/DC Posts: 834 | i have the H&R springs with blistein HD i love this set up so much is a nice firm ride i bought the H&r spring for about the same price but the OEM shocks didnt last that long like 3months and so did the bailjoints buy the M3 lowercontrol arm e36 or e30 e30 are cheaper and will fit and work just the same. i also changed the stock lower control bushing with derlin offset from tunermotorsport.com paid $100 all the work i did my self if you like i can sell you a lower control arm with the offset bushing and bushing mount heres a link you should check it out http://community.webshots.com/user/mischiefteck | | | 10-19-2005, 03:03 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Vancouver, B.C. Canada Posts: 465 | I'm running an H&R race oem m-tech sport shock setup. My shocks need to be replaced in a major way (they are still the 1996 factory oem ones!!), but I got about 60,000Kms (approx 37,000 miles) while running the H&R's and I’ve got no complaints...Ride quality has been 'decent' overall, tire-wear due to neg-camber issues has increased, so rotation is a must. Here’s a pic to help you in your decision: __________________ | | | 10-19-2005, 03:05 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | nice looking car and a cool looking backdrop!! how do you get your angel eyes on w/o the parking lights comming on? | | | 10-19-2005, 03:44 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Tampa Posts: 465 | I have a set of H&R race springs for sale. Here's a link to the parking light delete: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...g+light+delete DONT cut the wire, just use a small piece of electricians tape to stop the electrical current flow to the parking light filament. __________________ | | | 10-19-2005, 08:08 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | Quote: Originally Posted by m-technik_ti | Hey thanks a lot man!! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
