Default Window Channel Guide

Hi Guys

Fixing the front windows and seem to have it all sorted apart from the window channel guides in the rear of the door. When i got my car it didnt even have them fitted - part of the reason it was so cheap!

I have now acquired a pair of them but cannot see how to fit them?

Could someone please post a pic of how they are fixed/located.

Thanks

The guides are probably lying in the bottom of the door.
The rubber guide just presses into the channel.
I used some silicon at the top and bottom to keep from becoming loose.

Yeah i have the guides and the felt inserts but i need to see how they actually attach inside the door as they seem very short. Also there only appears to be one point at which the guides/channels can be fixed to the door but that leave the top quite loose

IIRC the top slides into a guide and the bottom has a bolt or vice versa. There's a rubber plug towards the bottom of the door. Remove the plug and you'll have access to the bolt.

Ok got the guides in - PITA that it is to do.

Read through the fix on the knowledge base but cant seem to sort the next issue =

the window goes up and down ok, regulator arms stay in place etc but about half an inch from the top the window leans forward so that a gap of 1cm appears at the rear. it doesnt pop outward or inward just seems to fall forward. Any ideas what it could be?

Hmmm. Sounds like the end of one of the regulator arms may be slightly bent. This might allow one arm to travel a little bit further than the other arm. Basically, when one slider reaches the end of it's stroke, the other keeps going a little further.

Are you sure the window is in the front guide properly?
