It isused to verify electrical integrity (shorts or disconnection) ofthe knock control circuitry both internally and externally. Checkwiring and Knock Sensors. | Check knock sensor wires, and maybe try replacing the knock sensors. If it is throwing a code, that code very well may be causing the enjoy to pull timing/fuel as a precaution. | | | 05-30-2008, 06:17 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: NJ Posts: 1,625 | could be the MAF sensor... my car was cutting off - chocking - bad MAF was telling the ECU 'no incoming air', so the ECU was cutting off the fuel. hope it is not, though, cause its about $350 to replace... | | | 05-30-2008, 06:26 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Southern California - Orange county Posts: 978 | Quote: Originally Posted by mohaughn Check knock sensor wires, and maybe try replacing the knock sensors. When im accelarating slowly its ok but as soon as its full throttle its gonna choke in any gear and sputter, then i lower the amount of throttle and it regains power Quote: Originally Posted by marko could be the MAF sensor... my car was cutting off - chocking - bad MAF was telling the ECU 'no incoming air', so the ECU was cutting off the fuel. hope it is not, though, cause its about $350 to replace... | where is the MAF located on the m42 i have no clue thanks and one more thing i forgot when i turn on my AC on the tach like to jump up and down but when its off its fine and everything idles smoothly about 90% of the time __________________ 1995 318ti Cosmos Black Bilsteins w/ H&R Sport, Depos w/ angeleyes and HID 5K, 50% short throw kit, Custom fogged intake, AC schnitzer pedels w/ deadpedels, leather stickshift knob, vitesse tuning Ebreak boot w/ shift boot, X-Brace, 325/328 brake upgrade, Gray millpoint leather and cloth interior, custom computer multimedia system, and Style 5 BBS 17" rims, M3 Mirrors, CF Hood | | | 05-30-2008, 08:19 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Southern California - Orange county Posts: 978 | bump please help me im stumped __________________ 1995 318ti Cosmos Black Bilsteins w/ H&R Sport, Depos w/ angeleyes and HID 5K, 50% short throw kit, Custom fogged intake, AC schnitzer pedels w/ deadpedels, leather stickshift knob, vitesse tuning Ebreak boot w/ shift boot, X-Brace, 325/328 brake upgrade, Gray millpoint leather and cloth interior, custom computer multimedia system, and Style 5 BBS 17" rims, M3 Mirrors, CF Hood | | | 05-30-2008, 08:23 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | it might be the fuel pump...? __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
