Default Accelaration problems

hi everyone i got a problem with my ti. it a 95 so its the m42 motor and whenever i try to accelerate fast it sounds like its choking and i have no power and the car will bairly move. i have a new fuel filter, knock sensor, all new gasket for the intake manifold all around and new vacuum lines. im running 91 octane and i have just seafoamed my my engine

the only clue i have is that i pulled one code from the engine from the check engine light it was code 1286 it said that my ECU/DDM was not sending a signal.

if anyone has had any experience with what is happening to my TI i would really appreciate the advise/help

thanks bobby

The ECU internally generated pulse was not detected. It isused to verify electrical integrity (shorts or disconnection) ofthe knock control circuitry both internally and externally. Checkwiring and Knock Sensors.

Check knock sensor wires, and maybe try replacing the knock sensors. If it is throwing a code, that code very well may be causing the enjoy to pull timing/fuel as a precaution.

could be the MAF sensor... my car was cutting off - chocking - bad MAF was telling the ECU 'no incoming air', so the ECU was cutting off the fuel.

hope it is not, though, cause its about $350 to replace...

i just changed my knock sensors they are at the right angel and are torqued at 15 pounds. i have no clue what is going on it just started doing this one day. When im accelarating slowly its ok but as soon as its full throttle its gonna choke in any gear and sputter, then i lower the amount of throttle and it regains power

Did the problem occur right after any specific repair you made?

Have you checked that the intake gasket is cranked down?

If it is new it might need a little re-tighten.

I had the same problem when one of my fuel vac hoses was bad. It was one of the hoses near the octopus under the upper IM. One of the hoses off #2 in http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...16&hg=13&fg=15.

Check that out.
