Her first vehicle, which also happen to be my dream car when I was younger...lol Anyways, I know it will need some TLC with 145,000 miles, but it was in great condition from one owner who had it the entire time. I recently had a question, which was found in the forum already. I ordered the part I need and can't wait to replace it and keep it running great. | | | 10-21-2013, 05:50 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Welcome to the community. I may trade with her and play around with it and keep it for myself. I have to check on the oil leak on the bottom of it though. Hope it's nothing big. | | | 10-21-2013, 08:02 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Laguna Beach Posts: 357 | Most common oil leak we have is the o-ring on the oil filter canister. Not a difficult fix if you diy. Other leak could be the valve cover gasket, a bit more difficult, but not real bad. | | | 10-21-2013, 09:02 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2013 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 4 | Great tip, I am taking it to a shop and see what they say. I will post the info for some feedback. Thanks | | | 10-22-2013, 03:27 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2012 Location: Dodging potholes in SoCal Posts: 454 | Good choice for your daughter! When I was getting my license (6 years ago), my dad let me buy a 1968 1600-2. I have since supplemented that car with a 318ti. Your daughter will love it! __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 10-22-2013, 06:38 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Welcome to the .org- you'll find a wealth of information here and people always willing to help.
