I have a 98 ti and i want to change the dash and all the trim with the iS...is that possible...given that one is the coupe and another is the compact, but is it possible to do without too much modification, or dare i say it...BOLT ON?!?!?! I have included the OEM parts catalog for you to compare...let me know what you all think, the is the ti | | | 07-17-2007, 07:52 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Los Alamos, NM Posts: 344 | I've seen a couple of peeps do it. I don't know what it took, but it's possible. I'll be doing a dash swap... ( sometime ) and upholster the new one in white alcantara. unless I think it looks to gaudy. I've been looking at pics, and so far it seems pretty good. but back to your question, the answer is yes, it's possible. | | | 07-17-2007, 08:02 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: NC Posts: 90 | could you post some pictures of the swap? man I wonder how much work that would take. | | | 07-17-2007, 09:04 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Quote: Originally Posted by momorugger | Wait what? But most importantly, the dash style is just badass... HAve you ever seen it...the HVAC could be solved with simple aluminum foil for a shabby job or actual custom built aluminum piping, but what about the dimensions...would it fit? | | | 07-17-2007, 11:06 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | That's a good question I cannot answer. However when you do your swap, come to my house and do one for me too. I wish we had a double DIN and that cockpit feel, and a better OBC. I'd be worried about the Manual HVAC Controls, since those are cables. The Air ducting shouldnt be that difficult, nothing a custom fiber glass job wont fix. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . Aside from the day or two holidays. School + Work, can't wait. I doubt I'll be home much. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . I am also undecided if I want full airbags or if I want to get rid of them totally | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
