Iv just been fitting a boot build and have now wired the amps and speaker back up but having problems and wondered if anyone can help.
Setup i installed is:
- 12V from battery into boot attached to a 3 way distribution block. - 2 seperate 12V lead from distribution block into the amps on either side of boot. - 1 400W JBL amp to run front components + 1 600W JBL amp to run the Audiobhan 12" Sub
Wired everything up as it was before i did the boot build (when it worked!!!)
now the 600W JBL powers on but the 400W JBL dosent!! i really cant work out what is wrong.
Only changes i have made are:
swapped the amps over so the 400W one has the remote running from head unit to it and then a remote wire from 400W to 600W. So now if the 400W one dosent come on the 600W one will do nothing.
Extended the smaller 12V wires coming from distribution block and have basically electrician taped them together where the new bit of wire joins (checked this connection last night too works fine on the 600W amp but still nothing the 400W)
I double tightened the wires going into the distribution block before i scrwewed the floor in so im sure it isent that and ive checked all the fuses and they are fine!!!!
Tottally lost and frustrated with it and am appreciating any advice anyone can give - or anything to try!!
Try wiring positive (+) to Remote (R) temporarily to see if the amp works at all. If it doesn't turn on check the ground. If it is grounded then the amp is DEAD.
Point! ill check the ground connection when i get in - its just none of the wires have really moved and the amp was working no probs before i disconnected it.
Thanks for the diagram but i dont really understand what you mean? u mean put the 12v conection onto the remote?

that's exactly what he means. This will force the amp on if it's getting +12 and ground, eliminating the remote connection from the list of possible problems.
