Default Running a Bearing Knock, Low Compression

Good All!!!!

I got a 2004 E46 Compact 318Ti......only 130k on the clock bought the car but its running a bearing knock............

Did a compression test and it was sitting at 6 bar for a dry test and 9 bar for a wet test.......just took off the cylinder head last night and the rest of the motor will be out tonight......

Hopefully the crank is still fine, think i need to replace the conpression rings and stuff and the bearing......the car doesnt smoke so dont think its that bad or atleast i hope.........what else should i look out for.......will it be easy putting the motor back?

What else do i need to check?
Help Please i need the car up and running before i get married which is in May

Made up and installed the "new" exhaust. Cut the damaged part of the Stromung out, repaired what I could of the muffler, and then installed the stromung on the stock resonator/pipe. Sounds a lot nicer, the nasty ricer rasp is gone.

Freak 1,

I admire your initiative and energy, diving into the engine like that. Keep us posted on the rebuild, and good luck with it.

I broke my drivers window by shutting the door when it was rolled down, AGAIN. Third time this week, this is getting old. Whatever I'm doing to "fix" it isn't working...

at first I replaced both sliders. Then it popped out of the track and broke one slider again, so I put it back in (realigning the rubber in the track that had gotten messed up) and another new slider. Today it popped out again, I haven't had time to take the panel off and look in there yet, but I assume its out of the track again, hopefully I don't need anymore sliders...

either you need to reglue in that rubber piece or your sliders are getting stuck or

this ones seems most def. the issue..the window track is bent

now im not there but if you look down the top of the window you can view the tracks.. Im not sure which way its popping out they need to be bent in certain direction

its all explained above in that link.

spent several hours burning out the rear bushings. This includes the the two on each trailing arm and the big ones that hold the subframe on. Tomarrow.. I install the poly bushings I have had sitting around for a couple of years..

Right now I smell of burnt rubber.. and that is with a very hot and soapy shower

Then you're doing it wrong!

When I did the ti it was pretty quick, especially for the subframe bushings, warmed them up a little and they pretty much just fell out. The arm bushings were a bit more annoying.
