Default Need front bumper advice / Repair

I have a 97 and i noticed that there are some plastic bits which channel the air behind the bumper to the rad which are missing.
Are these needed ?
And if I were to replace them, What would they be called.
There are only missing on the passenger side,
I just bought the car and didn't notice these items,
Thank you for any advice you may have.
Peter

I've seen plenty of 318ti's missing those pieces. I would say they're not completely necessary, however they do aid in cooling which is a critical system on these cars. You should be able to pick up a complete set from one of the many part-out threads on the forum or as Bobtail Bimmer mentioned, look up the part numbers on realoem and you can probably purchase them fairly cheap from getbmwparts.com, pelicanparts.com or ecstuning.com. Best wishes.
