The only reason to go with an aftermarket hood IMO is if you're looking to upgrade to a CF hood. And even still, I've yet to find a carbon hood that fits as well as the OEM hood. The hood that krambjas is selling is my old hood. Prior to selling the clubsport to him, I swapped hoods with my '97 because the clubsport's hood was oxidized and peeling. Jason "krambjas" wanted to keep the car original so I threw in both hoods. Then I got an old CF hood from Harold "Lazoh" in exchange for some work and parts. Then member "Bobbak" got his ti painted, but shortly after had an unfortunate mishap and dented his hood. Since my car wasn't going to be on the road for a while and I wasn't too thrilled about using an oxidized CF hood on my car after the swap anyway, I gave it to Bobbak for like a hundred bucks. I ended up getting a brand new Seibon CF hood which I'm still waiting to install. The funny or not so funny thing is that my car has had two interiors, four hoods, two nose panels, three sets of wheels and two pairs of sideskirts all while it hasn't even ran in three years! I've been through a lot of hoods Last edited by cooljess76; 06-02-2011 at 06:01 PM. | | | 06-02-2011, 05:45 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Run-on sentence FTW. Aftermarket rarely fits as nice. Find a good used one or pay the price. Or deal with a poor fit and a few bucks in your pocket. __________________ No more ti. | | | 06-02-2011, 05:55 PM | #5 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by familytruckster Run-on sentence FTW. | Tehehe fixed | | | 06-02-2011, 06:47 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Wasn't directed to you Jess....LMAO. I do have the tendency to ramble and go off topic though. I recommend getting the hood from krambjas, he's a cool guy and is fun to chat with about BMW's. You gotta do it soon though, he's moving soon and it might not last long. | | | 06-03-2011, 12:58 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: Riverside ,So-Cal Posts: 725 | I want to but he lives 2hrs 30 mins away from me __________________ EURO FRESH | | | 06-03-2011, 01:07 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | Quote: Originally Posted by Ralliart10 I want to but he lives 2hrs 30 mins away from me | Pfft....
