Holy crap your motor looks beefy as heck! I think it'd be worth it to contact a business that specializes in that.

Putting out 236rwhp on 16+ psi boost. 100% meth injection, 39# injectors, Nick G stage 3 with special curve and major bump on rev limiter. 3" custon header flange with 3" to a 40 series Flowmaster. Many more tricks to lighten the car and numerous small items that all add up.

Thanks, John Smith

I'm going to do a CAI fab this afternoon if my metal guy is home. Everything from after my stick throttle body is custom fit so there is no CAI kit for my application.

I saw your thread over on bimmerforums, it was unfortunate that all those guys ruined it.

I really hope you find a place to bore it out because I am also interested in making mine to Dinan spec. Keep us updated, I would like to know how this goes.

Sick setup by the way, I always love to see M44s that can take on S52s.

what charger setup is that? not a DA is it?

how are running 16psi? are the internals beefed up?

whats it got for torque?

please tell us more about your car, its very rare to see someone with a setup like yours on here. Let alone seeing an M4x motor pushing 210+

3.2" SC pulley (pulley boys). 1997 Crank pulley (the big one). 39# injectors, M3 MAF sensor, traction control unit removed because of air restrictions, Nick G stage 3 DME flash, bumped rev limit to 7,000, 100% Meth injection 10% at 7psi and 100% by 14psi (Orange jet on Snow meth system). Custom fabricated header with 3" flange and 3" to the back into a 40 series Flowmaster. HP clutch. 170K miles with no engine problems since install at 150K except clutch, guibo, tranny mounts tore up within a week of the pulley and methenal adds. Get's 31mpg highway and stomps any stock M3. 236rwhp but shooting for 300hp so a 50 shot might be next

nickG did a meth tune for you???

and how does your boost fluctuate? I was always under the impression than a S/C'r was constant as far as PSI goes...???

I really know nothing about FI.

The car runs on 93 gas and I inject 100% methenal with a Snow boost cooler system. The meth only is injected when in boost. The boost meth controller is adjustable so I pick when and how much is injected by boost pressure sensors. The Snow system has a pump that can handle 100% methenal. Normally people mix a 50/50 of water and meth but I run 100%. I think meth is 118 octane so it helps with detonation and also helps act as a intercooler

Those guys hate a 318 that spanks a M3. Most of them are a bunch of "Nancy's" that don't even change their own oil. I did get their feathers ruffled and 2 threads where closed. No biggy but glad someone suggested I come over here. This board is more toward my type of setup. Thanks

Where at in Florida?

Looks like a nice setup, where exactly are you spraying the meth? The reason I ask is another member on here had to have his eaton SC rebuilt after spraying meth through it... I didn't think the eaton SC included in the DASC kit was even up to the task of pushing out more than 12-14 PSI for any length of time. Have you been running it at 16psi for awhile?

Back to the original question. Good luck finding a dinan big bore TB.. I haven't seen one of those for sale used in the past three years... I know some other folks looked into how to bore it out and I think the problem comes about with how it has two ports that open up. So you actually need someone to bore it out, and then they need to fit new butterfly flaps to fit the larger openings. There really is not much room to open it up a lot.

You might be better of trying to figure out if there is a TB from older E30s that only have a single opening, not two openings, and if you can somehow retrofit one of those.

The member bam2002, on here, is over in the Tampa area and I know he got ahold of a dinan TB and took it to a machine shop to see if they could reproduce it with a stock M44 tb. You might want to check with him if he ever went any further with that project. He also runs the Tampa area BMW autocrosses.
