Posts: 701 | The ideal fitment for a ti is a 19x8 wheel with a 40mm offset with a 235/35/19 tire. It is the widest combination possible without encountering problems. Rear arch work will still be necessary. Personally I wouldn't go bigger than 18s unless the 19s are for shows. Why get something more narrow than needed? You can easily fit 8.5" wide wheels, and the wider the better, so I'd go with those __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 06-08-2005, 05:49 PM | #25 | Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Toronto, Ontario Posts: 32 | I stand corrected! For starters you would need major rear arch mods and second, a steering limiter would be needed on the rack. Don't get fooled by people. It is impossible to fit that size on a ti without major work. Also not having a multi link rear suspension makes a difference on tow and castor angles. Doing the math 245/30/19 are about an inch bigger, and I have room to spare in my wheel well. As for 8.5" wide, that's where I'm going off of what I was told. The program at the wheel shop said that it fits 8.5" wode wheels __________________ Joe, In San Luis Obispo E30-> '96 TI sport -> E30 -> '96 TI | | | 06-08-2005, 10:48 PM | #28 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Pismo Beach, CA Posts: 500 | City has 19" wheels..... I have Hartge 18x8.5 with a 40mm offset riding on 225/40/18 Dunlops. There is steering limiter on the rack and the rear arches (fender lips) were rolled and machined at least a half inch. So, like I said I'd like to see you fit those 19x8.5 with 245/30/19s in the rear without modifications. BTW, we are here to discuss and steer other ti enthusiasts in the right direction, please if you are not sure of what you are writing don't write it. Also, city bought his car from a guy in Jersey. I met the original owner and the rear arches were modified to fit the 19s!
