A couple buddies and i got bored saturday night so we went to the shooting range and shot off a couple hundred rounds. We took a couple .22's one a rifle and one a pistol, took the 357 with us a ruger .45 and a sks rifle, oh yeah and the 30x6 which was fun to shoot. We only brought 20rounds for that. Knowbody was there when we went so we had the place to ourselves. It's cool that it's a 24hr club so you can go whenever you want. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-16-2007, 09:46 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Regensburg, Germany Posts: 584 | So it was an outdoor range, not an indoor one? We dont have anywhere here to shoot high powered rifles like an sks or 30-06, unless its someone's land in the boonies. How did you do? | | | 04-16-2007, 10:07 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: PA Posts: 1,906 | Funny, I just bought a Springfield XD40 subcompact to carry around. Its great for concealment. It only has a 3 inch barrel, so its not the most accurate gun, but a blast to shoot nonetheless. I've put about 300rounds through it already in about the 2 weeks of ownership. I just joined a 24 hour range too. It has a huge outdoor range which ANYTHING can be shot. It also has an indoor pistol range which I havn't checked out yet. I think my next gun will be a .45 __________________ | | | 04-17-2007, 12:40 AM | #4 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Quote: Originally Posted by BobbyDigital So it was an outdoor range, not an indoor one? How did you do? | Nope it's an indoor range and i think they have the outdoor one open when it's nicer out. Forget the name of the place but it's in woburn, mass. There are no limitations to what you can use, as long as it's legal in mass it's ok. Mass has the toughest gun laws too. I did ok, it was the 2nd time i've ever gone. 1st time using a rifle and they said i did good. I did good on my last target with the .45 but on my last shot i knocked the target down and couldn't get it. A couple came in as we were about to leave and started shooting. My friend told me i shot better with the .45 than he did when he got it so i took that as a compliment. I got a few pics i can post, not what i was using the other night but the 1st time i went. Also on my myspace page i have a couple videos i think. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-17-2007, 12:51 AM | #5 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | A few pictures, one is some (195)30x6 bullets from ww2 that a old man handed in a the police department asked to get rid of them for him. So my friend who was working that night took them and gave them to one of my other friends. He's not going to use them. Then the others are what i used the 1st time i went and a picture of a federal reserve bullet which is basically a hollow point. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 04-17-2007, 01:43 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Marin County & Santa Cruz Posts: 116 | Quote: Originally Posted by BobbyDigital So it was an outdoor range, not an indoor one? How did you do? | You're telling me that in all of VIRGINIA there is no place to "legally" pop off a few 300 WinMag, 338 Lapua, or any high powered rounds at a range? That seems a bit strange to me...maybe ur just not close to any??? I know for a fact that the Rivanna as well as the Lafayette clubs allows such weaponry...hehe __________________ My next car will be a 335D...I swear | | | 04-17-2007, 02:17 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Nice little collection of guns. Ive got to take the class still to get certified but I can wait to get out on the range with a good ol 12 gauge. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 04-17-2007, 07:04 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Regensburg, Germany Posts: 584 | Quote: Originally Posted by SlickmisterN You're telling me that in all of VIRGINIA there is no place to "legally" pop off a few 300 WinMag, 338 Lapua, or any high powered rounds at a range? There's nothing better than a .22..well there is, but for as cheap as it is to shoot and maintain.. | | | 04-19-2007, 02:03 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Regensburg, Germany Posts: 584 | Quote: Originally Posted by SlickmisterN You're telling me that in all of VIRGINIA there is no place to "legally" pop off a few 300 WinMag, 338 Lapua, or any high powered rounds at a range?
