It's a 1998 m318ti a/t with a Cali top and 88K. I paid $4500 for it but it needed tires($280). The mileage is OK so far(27mpg). Getting an air intake for it and had a dynomax put on the other day(should i get rid of the resonater?) and putting in bosch plats and going to synthetic oil. Anything else that will help with performance ? And yes pics are coming. | | | 03-27-2008, 12:51 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Damascus, Maryland Posts: 434 | Sweet deal on the ti! And...way to answer pretty much all of the questions us information-hungry ti owners would have asked anyways. Just for kicks.. __________________ | | | 03-27-2008, 05:54 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Omaha, NE Posts: 737 | Quote: Originally Posted by BakeR318 Sweet deal on the ti! Just for kicks.. | I think the newbs are starting to read all the posts from previous newbs before posting. Takes all of the fun away. Anyway, welcome to the org and it sounds like you got yourself a pretty nice car (well, minus the slushbox, but that's a matter of preference). My mechanic is on vaca and won't be able to get things done until Apr 6th. I'm not an idiot but i just can't find things on this car for the simple maintenance. | | | 03-27-2008, 06:22 PM | #6 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | well, we can likely help you with most things if you're interested in doing them yourself now that you mention plat 2s, i think it was the 4s that performed poorly so you should be ok there. __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 03-27-2008, 06:23 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 1,305 | sounds like a sweet ride! i think taking the resonator off is a personal preference thing but i had it off on mine when i replaced the exhaust and i liked the sound a lot | | | 03-27-2008, 07:35 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: PHX Posts: 17 | Having problem with the pics--will try to resize them and get them up | | | 03-27-2008, 11:37 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Omaha, NE Posts: 737 | Quote: Originally Posted by AZM318ti Having problem with the pics--will try to resize them and get them up | We're patient, to a point. The intake is a cheapo off of ebay. I've put K & N's on my mustang and jeep, and the set-up seems to be the same basic principal, so I went low budget. Pics are in my photo gallery, still trying to figure out some of the nuances of this site. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
