Default Depo...great deal...or a disaster?

I wasn't going to do this until the spring, but when you get used to having xenons, it's hard to go back to halogens.

I just ordered Depo front headlight assemblies with Xenon bulbs and LED "Angel Eyes" for $380.

I wanted to get the "real thing"...but I couldn't justify spending a thousand dollars.

I hope I didn't make a mistake.

Forgive me for putting Taiwanese parts on a BMW.

This is a first for me...

The Depo Gen IV's are awesome. They look just like ZKW's and OEM Euro headlights. I personally think you made a good choice by going with Depo as long as you didn't get the Projecter 36's(chrome & cheap looking). There's a few guys running DJ Auto brand headlights which look similar, but all I've heard were comments on how cheaply made they are. I have Depo Gen IV's w/6000k HID's on my car and love them. The angel eyes I have are a little too bright for my taste though. Thinking about getting thinlines or removing them altogether. I do think you overpaid though. DDMtuning sells Depo/HID packages for much less than you spent IIRC. However, their customer support really sucks and their shipping takes forever. But for $159 with angel eyes + HID, you can't go wrong:

Cooljess, I'm glad you like them so much.
That makes me feel a little better about putting Taiwanese headlights on a BMW...
BTW, these cost much more because they're xenons...

I think Depo makes the OEM headlights for Mazda...Not exactly BMW, but they are at least legit "factory quality" headlight manufacturers...

I thought you paid $380? DDM's price with HID bulbs, balasts and LED angel eyes and balasts is about $210 shipped.

Is HID the same as Xenon? I could be wrong, but I thought HID was still halogen...

Jess...I hate to be a pain, but, ifI send you the specs of the ones I bought, can you tell me if it's the same thing?

This is it on eBay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120638966992

Again...These are 100% assembled...plug and play...

So the ones from DDM are completely plug and play?

All you had to do was hook them up...

Right?

IIRC, DDM will install the bulbs and angel eyes for an extra 10 bucks. I installed mine myself, it was pretty simple. Two things I wish I would of done differently though. I wish I would've got the 8000k bulbs instead of the 6000k and I wish I would've got the thinlines instead of the MYCARR Orion angel eyes. The angel eyes I got look just like the ones in the pictures in that ebay listing and they're CCFL's. I'm going to try to remove the outer plastic rings which should turn them into thinlines since thinlines are just a CCFL ring minus the plastic outer ring. Thinlines look much cleaner and less tacky IMO

eBay says I have to ask the seller if he is willing to release me from the purchase.
It wasn't shipped, but it IS payed for...
Naturally, these are 6000K bulbs...
I was going to take your advice on the 8K bulbs...

Let's see if the seller "releases me"...

If we were talking $50, that would be one thing...
But we're talking almost $200!

Hey man, it may or may not be worth it. Remember I said DDM's shipping and cutomer service kinda sucks. Knowing that, I probably won't buy anything else from them unless I happen to be cruising through San Diego or Huntington Beach.

I ordered headlights, fogs, corners and side markers along with bulbs from DDM Tuning 2 weeks ago and everything when well - quick delivery with no surprises.
