Is there a uk based forum for these motors, as i've been sitting back reading the forum, but just seem to be getting result with cars in the states or else where. Just wondering if there is something a little local based so i can see whats for sale in the uk, and information regarding uk spec cars. cheers all D | | | 09-04-2008, 01:05 PM | #220 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Yorkshire Posts: 151 | You could always have a trawl through autotrader website? I don't think there are any ti specific forums in the UK. I'm over on Bavarian-Board but that's a more general forum for all series and types of BMW. Click my sig pic to take you there.. __________________ E36/5 '95 318ti Auto. Oh lads i have a set of wheels i had pre bought for this project as i am looking to get some wheels and coilovers on it as soon as i get it. The wheels are no longer needed, m3 e36 wheels, in a sparkling silver powder coat, i bought them like this, a few imperfections in the coat, but pretty mint, all centre caps etc present. I don't know where to put them up apart from ebay .. 8 x 17s et 40. I was looking somewhere around £370, do you lads and ladies think thats reasonable?? Reason for selling is a friend offered me a set of BBS 17s RC 2 piece from the 328i sport, and now the same lad has offered me 3, 8 series BBS splits too. i just need to find another. Similar to philly on here with the red compact. That looks so right!! cheers for the info and help all. | | | 09-12-2008, 01:38 PM | #223 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: United Kingdom Posts: 13 | Quote: Originally Posted by pureklas Drop us some pictures near the time haworthp | Will do. Just to give you or anyone else some info about the work done on the car: Shocks were in the worst condition I've ever seen so new lowered springs and shocks all round (not too low, just enough to make the car look better) Front: New pads, callipers reconditioned(new seals etc and painted), removed any rust underneath and repainted with fresh under seal. Front bushes and ball joints etc look ok so they were left. Rear: Rear suspension etc removed, removed any rust underneath, treated and repainted with under seal. Rear beam bushes replaced, rear brake pipes replaced, new handbrake cables, callipers reconditioned(new seals etc and painted), new discs, new pads, new handbrake shoes, diff painted and filled with new oil, all suspension/drive parts rust treated and painted (except roll bar), new heat shield as it was missing, new abs sensors, new suspension top mounts and gaskets, any missing clips replaced. plus other things that I cant remember. Just in the process of fitting a new drivers wing and replacing the gear linkage bushes as the gear change is sloppy. I also have a pair of 328 callipers/carriers which have been reconditioned and painted plus new vented discs and pads for a brake upgrade but haven't decided whether to fit them or not. I bought it for my daughter to use but the insurance is too expensive for her and I wasn't going to pay for that as well. | | | 09-12-2008, 03:49 PM | #224 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by ipswich318ti hi ya all the bmw is going and a subaru is taking its place so im selling all my bits up got lots of compact and bmw diecast models will get pics up | I might be interested in those if you're willing to ship to the states | | | 09-12-2008, 05:00 PM | #225 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Yorkshire Posts: 151 | Quote: Originally Posted by pureklas So is the bavarian board more uk? | Yes. It was the forum side of the official BMW Car Club GB until we decided to break away (won't go into politics but they wanted to make it members access only - they didn't even own it) so it's now called the Bavarian-Board with access to anyone who wants to post. We need more compacts on there __________________ E36/5 '95 318ti Auto.
