be nice to know if they'd deck a set of pistons like in that 2.1 buildup on the bf.c thread and, if so, how much they'd be.

I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I requested a quote for standard (+.50) and low compression pistons. We'll see if they get back to me, I requested a quote for 5 sets.

i sure you can have the pistons that came in the motor shaved down if you cant find any,you usally want forged pistons but if you set it up right you can some time get away with regular pistions.

sometimes when you shave down pistons it makes them weaker. I'd rather go with something other than shaving the piston.

your probaly right, but if the factory pistons are forged than its no big deal a a little shaved off the top won't hurt that much.i used to have a vw bug that me and my dad installed a 2.3 liter mustang turbo motor in it and we got the motor for real cheap in the junk yard, cause it needed pistion rings, and we just put in cheap ones not even forged and the compression was like 8.5:1 and we ran 12-13 pounds of boost and never had a problem except melting the spark plugs once in awhile, retarded timing and water injection fixed that, but that thing would eat up v-8s all the time to about 65 mph.granted its alot lighter it think as long as you have a boost gauge, vac, oil gauge and keep synthetic oil in it and dont beat it to much.your ok. just a thought.

You can run thicker and/or multiple head gaskets to lower compression...

if you need help with this issue try posting in the right sub-forum. better yet search the forum for someone with a similar problem. don't mean to be a di(k but keeps everyone from being confused.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm still wondering why I can't find the rod lenghts of these m42/m44 motors. Me coming from the honda world I am used to the idea of swapping parts around and ****. Perhaps one of the I6 motors uses the same lenght rods as the m44/m42 (but they're stronger?)

Or how about using I6 pistons which have a longer stroke (but same bore) This would lower the cr when being placed in an engine with a shorter stroke.

I am going to the bank tommorow to see about a loan for a 318ti. If I get it I'm gonna go balls to the wall crazy with the research on this thing. I6 swaps are so cliche and boring. SOMEONE needs to get crazy on the research of these runt motors. It's like honda's d-series. Nobody likes these llittle runt motors so they swap them out for B-series. making d-series piss cheap. I picked up a d-series swap for 50 bucks. What I wanna know is, if there's any aftermarket cams for these motors. Raise the cr up and put some cams in there. 8000rpm redline 4.44 automatic rear end FTW!!!!!
