Very nice. I don't think the pillars should ever have been covered in cloth.

Default What did you do to your car today? v.2014

A very simple project and I was tired of looking at those horribly cracked falling apart door gaskets every time I got in the car. Cheap eBay gaskets, they fit good but not perfect.

Ps. I told myself after the last black car I would never own another one. Too hard to keep clean and looking nice. Click image for larger version Name:	ImageUploadedByTapatalk1391299120.233044.jpg Views:	160 Size:	83.6 KB ID:	14690

Washed off the coating of salt that turned my Alaskablau to a pale gray.

Front lip fell off somewhere, oh well. It was looking pretty sorry anyway.

Apparently, all the BMW E36 guys were watching the horrific Super Bowl. Just picked up a new Lemforder front strut mount for $1.25 + $8 shipping on Ebay :-)

Sweet looking.
I removed my A pillar cover to run a wire and the plastic tabs broken also.
I thought about a screw but ended up using a dap of silicon.

Replaced a broken window track/guide and slide clip in the California editions driver door. Also re-glued a few stand-offs on the door as well. Then, drove to the beach with the top open in 82* weather.

I finally converted the footwell lights to fully-dimmable, 4500K LEDs. I couldn't find a suitable lamp, so I made my own:

Next time I will use a step drill and a clear glue.

Changed my headline and pillars to black.
Now I have a full black interior.

Just need to find and buy black dome lights.

Had my indie oil change place change out my diff fluid. After 36k miles it came out dark and dirty. Cheap preventive maintenance. I use Castrol Synthetic gear oil, 75-90 weight. If you can raise and block all four corners of your car safely this can be a diy. Buy a generic, plastic fluid container/pump. You have to drop the spare to be able to get good purchase on the drain and fill plugs. Drain then fill until the new fluid runs out the fill hole. Takes a bit less than two quarts.

Cool

Last weekend, I completed installation of a pair of Depo HID converted projector LED angel eyes, wired for the AE's to come on with the ignition.

Yesterday, I went to the yards during lunch and picked up a Clown Nose auto dimming mirror and about four feet of harness off an E39 for install on my 97 this or next weekend depending on the rain.

I have a non-Clown Nose mirror I had picked up off an E34 I'll install on my 95 as well.

I felt like a Clown going to the yards in business attire to redeinstall the mirror and harness. At least I took off my tie.

Fixed passenger door panel, cleaned and greased driver side window regulator to stop the screetching sound, rigged the temp controle flap to full heat until my new bowden cable comes in.

I sold my 95 schwartz sport ti to a good friend.

His wife is going back to work and they needed a second car. I tried to help (distract) him towards another friends 323i Alpine sedan for sale, but he had his heart set on a ti, my ti.

After a quick "M42s like to rev" introduction session, he was having as much fun as he thought he would.

I'm having a bit of separation anxiety just now, as I saved this TI from the scrap yards, but I'm glad Tiny's going to a good home, with a good buddy. I expect he'll join this forum to see you all are as great in so much as a community as our cars are cool and great.

While I was sad to see my first ti go, my friend had a huge grin on his face as he sped away.

Vorshlag camber plates with modified reinforcement plates installed. New air filter, old one was gross. Power steering hose is leaking again, gotta love E36s...

Ordered some 245/40-17 dunlop Z2s to put on the arc-8s.

Started tearing down the new, used, small case LSD. Going to put new clutches, dog ear plates, and seals in, then rebuild the axles and swap it next weekend.
