So this weekend i got bored and decided to do a few things..blacked out my grill and removed my rear antenna because i only listen to CD's and took off my rear wiper for the cleaner rear look. I wasnt thinking things through and assummed taht i could find a plug at home depot but after everything was out i went and they didnt have what i need. Can anybody that has done this let me know and anybody else who's planning to do this the exact parts needed and where to buy them to plug these holes? I would prefer not to cut plates and weld them on just in case (god forbid) i have to sell my car one day | | | 09-09-2008, 03:12 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | Everyone that has done this usually finds the plugs at home depot or Lowe's. Did you ask anybody to see if they could help you find them? | | | 09-09-2008, 03:58 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 144 | Quote: Originally Posted by elchicano318ti Everyone that has done this usually finds the plugs at home depot or Lowe's. You need a 1" for the wiper and a 7/8" for the antenna. | | | 09-11-2008, 05:53 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | haha...i was looking at the package and read the company is from cerritos, ca. thats like right next to my town. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I like. I'll be keeping the antenna though on mine. There are flat faced smooth plugs available in other hardware stores so you won't have that little hump and you wouldn't have to buff and gloss if you already have a black car but there would be a raised edge about an 1/8th inch or so but it probably wouldn't look right in the place of the antenna hole, but a good plug for the wiper. __________________ | | | 09-12-2008, 12:32 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | not bad, this will definitely get done to my antennae and wiper at some point I'd need to find some paint to match cordobarot though | | | 09-12-2008, 12:39 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2008 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 144 | well i must be getting Alzheimer's at 19 because i completely lost the wiper plug before i put it in. Im going to try painting one of the metal plugs i got with a gloss finish so see which looks better then either redo the antenna in gloss or go buy another one and make it flat like the one i have in now for the wiper | | | 09-12-2008, 12:43 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | lol, I do that all the time | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
